HRRH Appointment Dr.Glazer

Today I had my appointment with Dr.Glazer. I was dreading it  !!! I was afraid he was going to deny me surgery because of my history of blood clots. I had surgery last year and I ended up with multiple blood clots in my lungs (PE or Pulmonary Emboli) and both legs (DVT or Deep Vein Thrombosis) I arrived at his office 7 minutes late due to traffic on the 401 I left home at 6:00AM and my appointment was at 9:30AM. There were 4 accidents on the 401 this morning it was crazy. His receptionist was very understanding and said not to worry about it. I had my Blood Pressure taken and an ECG done and then waited to see Dr.Glazer. I was only in his office for about 5 minutes. He asked my about my medical history specifically my blood clots and Sleep Apnea. Then he said it only meant they would have to take more precautions to ensure I didnt get blood clots again. I will also have to be on the blood thinning injections for up to 30 days instead of the standard 8 days. He was appalled by the wait times in my area for sleep study follow up. We have to wait like 3-4 months for our initial sleep studies and then up to 18 months if you need a CPAP machine. He said he is going to obtain a copy of my sleep study review it and try to help me out if I do in fact need a CPAP machine. He was very friendly and pleasant to meet. As far as I know everything is a go :-) Match 2nd here I come !!
