Having a good support system before and after bariatric surgery is very important to your success. Attending support group is an integral part of patient's successful weight loss experience.

Support group has a positive and significant impact on patients. The meetings provide education, support, counsel, friendship, reinforcement, and ultimately, help patients achieve success faster than they could alone.

In support groups you will find other patients who are willing to support, counsel, and befriend you, so you can reach your goals. Although you may have a wealth of family and friends who are going to support you through your weight loss surgery, there is nothing better than to network with others who have lived through these experiences.

Most patients develop lifelong relationships that extend past our regular support group meetings, and are contacting each other frequently by phone, email, and casual get-togethers.
