A good time had by all!
I missed some of the seminars, but the ones I did catch were good. I wish they lasted a little longer, time flies when you are having fun!
Come to the next Hospital support group and I'll go over what I learned and saw.
Actually I might have 2 under my belt by then if I go to the Atlanta, GA event.
We'll see, I have to change my shoulder surgery to fit that in.
It's boring writing to myself,
so this is a reminder to go over the computer in the next support group...
Hugs to you who stop by!

Topic: Are You Reaching Your Goals?
hmmm
I know I'm not reaching goals, that is because I don't make any.. So, that's where I should start!
hugs,
Debbie
Are You Reaching Your Goals? Pick a time every week to write down two health goals for the week. Try Sunday night, after your favorite TV show, to write out two realistic goals for the week, such as your vitamins every day or enough protein and water and fit in a 20-minute walk after dinner. The next Sunday, review your goals. If you made them, then build on them, such as increasing your walk to 30 minutes, plus 10 minutes of sit-ups. If you didn't make your goals, evaluate why and try again. |

Topic: 5K Walk for Breast Cancer at Tanger Outlets
Anyone interested in walking at the:
5K Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness
Sunday, September 27, 2009
7:30am - 8:45am Registration and get goodie bag
8:45am opening ceremony
9am Walk
15.00 registration if paid by 9/18/09, you mail in your registration.
20.00 registration day of event.
I believe you walk around Tanger 1 and 2 twice. Then afterwards they have lots of raffles in the main office. Plus Tanger usually gives coupon book as part of goody bag (at least they have in the past) and all the stores when the open usually have discounts for breast cancer.
So if you're interested here's the link to get your registration form and read more about the event.

Topic: SF Brownies
This simple brownie recipe uses easy to find ingredients and tastes delicious. Give it a try.
The brownies turn out better when I use my ‘special’ ingredients but I would like everyone to be able to make these; not just folks who have bags of of our Nature Sweet and California Almond Flour. 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
½ cup cocoa powder (Ghiradelli unsweetened cocoa is the best and available in many supermarkets)
¾ cup Splenda granular (even better using ¾ cup Nature Sweet Crystals)
½ teaspoon vanilla
2 large eggs
½ cup all purpose flour (even better using ¼ cup flour plus ¼ cup almond flour)
Pinch of salt
½ cup chopped walnuts - optional
Heat oven to 300 degrees. Melt butter and cocoa in a small saucepan over low heat stirring until smooth. Transfer to a medium bowl; blend in the sugar substitute and vanilla. Beat in the eggs one at a time until thick and smooth. Stir in flour and salt; fold in nuts. Pour into an 8 inch square that has been lightly sprayed with nonstick cooking spray. Bake 12 to 14 minutes or until slightly firm. Brownies are best when slightly under-baked. Cool before cutting into 2 inch squares. Makes 16 brownies – Calories 84, fat 7g, carbs 4.5g, protein 2g
