Cool Apple, my sister in law has the bullet. I am still on the Pre-Op diet, 1 metered meal a day, 2 protien shakes a day. I love my new blender.
I am anxious and nervous and yes, excited. I fly out in 2 weeks. I was going to buy my suit cases, so my coworker is going to let me borrow a suit case and a carry on. Well I barely fly out of Alaska. I try and see family in the lower 48 every 2-5 years. Last time I flew was in 2009 to see my family in Arkansas. I just flying and I did get a travel letter for being Diabetic.
Later today or on Sunday I need to make a list of things I need to do before surgery. Luckily a freind is going to have my place cleaned and ready for when I get back. I have gotten some things food wise for when I get back. I know there are some extra things I need to do around my house, I need to wash clothes, that are a smaller size before I gained weight and I can wear when I loose some pounds and inches. One of the local stores had a sale on jslacks, so I got my size and they have the elastic for the waste. I mostly got them for work purposes. I don't feel like spending more money on clothes. I will when I loose more weight or check on line for free clothes in a smaller size.
Soon we get the white fluffy stuff, I get what is called Cabin Fever (winter blues), seasonal affective disorder. I hope I dont get that after surgery.

I agree with all of you. I am getting all the nerves/anxious/happy to get out of Alaska before it snow, I fly out in 2 week, WOW, I am nervous to fly on top of it all. I fly Anchorage to Seattle and then Seattle to San Deigo then drive to La Jolla and I some times have to use the seat belt extension. We are flying Alaska Air lines
My Dad is going to be driving and he drives like he is from California. OHHH wait he is from California, LOL. I think my fear is wanting to go to the bathroom after surgery and I can't with that catherter in me. Ugh, darn UTI's again. OHHHH and I don't like being in pain.. I like to be left alone some times after surgery, so I can gather my self. I just dont like being asked every 10 minutes if I am ok and the nurse/staff don't wash there hands... as you can tell I am venting from past experiences. I can be a grumpy patient, some times the smallest thing bug me about the hospital staff or nurses. I geuss I am used to my routine and if you mess it up, you will hear it.
I think my fear is when I come back to Alaska is flying back and getting enough fluids while flying and hopefully not getting searched. OHHH yes, I am going to get a Dr. Note that I just had surgery. I know the week I get back, I wont be driving and have some one drive me if i need to go places.
Ohh and when I offically go back to work, on my night schedule to stay awake.

My liquid diet is 2 weeks of sugar free, caff free liquids, i can have some veggies(which is nice), 4 protein shakes a day two with skim milk, 2 with water. And as far as waiting the year, i was not exactly happy about it and it really was hard to not gain weight for a year. Which is another requirement my bariatric team gives us. But i am finally getting close and i feel like a lil kid of christmas and I havent even had the surgery yet. I hear of so many people getting anxious or scared. Im so excited i could pop. Im sure thats cause i have had tons of time to research and get those feeling out before. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Topic: RE: Overcoming My Fears
my biggest anxiety at the moment is waking up. I have had surgery before and i am claustrophobic. waking up confused and not able to move and in pain scares the crap out of me. also i dont react well to anesthesia and i predict lots of puking in my future. also the gas pains, some people dont get them, but for me it was the worst part, i am just dreading all of it, because i know how it feels for me. =( it makes me panicky just thinking about it.
make sure to ask your dr to start your pain meds before you wake up so you have a little something in your system. just realised i probably didnt help anyone besides myself..... sorry!!

I am having RNY on Oct. 11. I am very anxious to get off the pre op diet and eat some meat. I have a 2 week lf ls full liquid diet. I have been keeping myself busy with work to keep my mind off of my pre surgery nerves. Good luck to everyone with their surgeries!

I have the same fears! We just have to have faith in our surgeons and know we're making the right decision.
