Topic: 3 weeks out... and what are you eating?
HI...

Well I am about 3 weeks out.. and just curious what everyone is eating...> more of a comparison..(and yes I know everyone is different..lol)..

I am technically in the pureed stage..but have not been blending my food... just eating really really soft shredded food..(eg.  beef stew)..

Having a hard time getting my protein shakes.. but every day I try to work more towards it.  Problem is,  I just not have found one that suits my new taste buds...  (its a work in progress)..

Happy and fast healing to all the new post ops...

Hi everyone.  I just want to wish everyone the best of luck on here.  My surgery was on Monday, I came home Wednesday and I honestly feel great.  Some soreness around the incisions, and some gas pain but mostly just getting used to the new me.  My stomach makes some crazy sounds while I drink LOL.  Sticking to protein shakes for all 3 meals so far, some SF jello and SF ice pops.  Going to try some low fat soups tomorrow.  Its tough when your family is around because let's face it, they have to eat still.  Lifechanging but so excited to see the results.  Don't forget your pumped up with IV's at the hosptial so you WILL put some pounds on.

I guess it is a brand, but exactly like Milk of Mag.   It is funny how every doctor has a different plan.  I am on my third week on soft foods, hoping to move to solids soon.

Is Miralax something you can only get in the US?   I have been looking all over for it...  and cannot find it...

Using Milk of Magnesia right now... not a whole lot to report...lol...

I am on third week and just started pureed.. hoping the sausage soup for lunch and stew for dinner helps....

Super Excited for y'all!!!  It is the best decision that I have ever made.  I am 3 weeks out and I am practically back normal.  I have been working for almost a week, and I have been walking for exercise.

YOU CAN DO IT!!!!

I know I am not the first to deal with this, nor the last, but thought I would pass along this warning.

DRINK MIRALAX!!!!  When you are eating soft foods and basically eating only protein foods, it makes your life miserable, at least in the bathroom lol.

Felt like I was having a baby last night.  It was the worst pain that I have ever felt, but hey the scale moved 2 lbs, gotta take the small victorious when you can.  Thought I would share my pain.  I am now drinking it every other day lol.

Topic: RE: weight gain?
The best thing you can do is not weigh more than once a week, or, better yet, only get weighed when you go to the doctor.  Not seeing the number you want can cause a release in stress hormones, which can actually impede weight loss.  Our excess weight didn't pile on overnight, it is not going to drop off that way either.  Think of our weight loss like a staircase, drop some pounds for  days/weeks/months/etc, then stall for a week/month-it is not a slide :-)
