I am trying to weigh just every once and a while.  My scale has mood swings though, it ranges 10 lbs at a time lol.  I am excited.  I am 3 weeks tomorrow and I haven't lost in the last couple of days.  I am feeling great so I am not going to let the scale rule me :)

I went to a bon fire the other day and I didn't feel fat so I am feeling darn good!

yup...like everyone else said...   and no you are not crazy,,, each and everyone one of us have been through the same thing....

I put the scale in the basement...

I know its hard..  but like everyone else said.. concentrate on getting your liquids in.. etc etc...

Don't chain yourself to the scale... it will come off..

I think everyone has those thoughts before surgery, it is totally normal and understandable...

I wish you best of luck and a very uneventful recovery-check in when you can to let us know how you are!

Do not weigh yourself more than once a week-I learned this the hard way!  When I was 3 weeks out I had a week long stall but then lost 7 pounds the next week. But during that week long stall, I was freaking out and weighing myself 2-3 times a day-what a mess, lol!  Actually, the stress of weighing yourself all the time can cause you to release stress related hormones that can affect weight loss.

Do not worry, if you are following your doctors instructions and staying hydrated, the weight will come off....Think of our weight loss after surgery to be more like stairs than a slide.  We didn't didn't become heavy overnight and we won't get skinny overnight either, but we will get there!!

Absolutely!  I keep thinking...did I really do this to myself?  However, I knew I needed extreme since nothing I have done ever worked, for long at least.  Seeing the pounds come off so far helps but I know it will slow down.

I've decided to only weigh once a week so I don't get frustrated. I'm only 13 days post-op but I think it is important to work the plan and let the results just follow along.

I understand. Weight loss does slow down as youf body and fluids catch up. A day or so is definately go be ecpeced. Looking at the weight loss projection on here was really nelpful to me. Plus you most likely are not having regular bowel movemets, dont worry you will keep trucking! It is a little nerve wracking. If we are expected to lose 30 pounds in a month then your body would haave to skip a day or so at your pace, try a laxative if approved bh your sjurgeon...
