Congratulations!!! The first time going shopping is the best feeling in the world!!  hehe you sound just like me.  Clothing stores like that are my new best friends. I will buy them for my future sizes then I wear them until I can't fit in them anymore then they take them back and give me some of the profit back. Its a very nice situation!  :)

its not "do not intubate" its not to do it blind I think. From what i am understanding that for people that don't have ther RNY it goes deeper and if they go that deep for us it can puncture our pouches.

Well, the juice I get is a probiotic juice, but the recommendations are very different here. They don't want us on protein shakes or anything processed. We have a very natural eating plan in place. The post-ops I have met here are really successful. I have decided that I am just going to follow their recommendations as long as it works.
Pretty pretty please, don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f*ckin' perfect.

I was a big shopper pre-op and now I'm not as into it....I think it's because anything I would buy would only fit temporarily so it's just not as fun and seems like a waste of money to me.  The problem is, I need clothes that fit, lol!

I like the idea of a new purse...it least it will always "fit"

Be careful buying shoes, quite a few of mine have gotten too big, something I didn't expect at all.  I have 2 pairs of Coach shoes and several more that are too big now....lucky for my sister-huh?

Glad to hear you are feeling so good!  Move as much as you can and keep on sipping :)

Don't worry about getting staples removed, it really is not as bad as you would think.  I am a nurse and I work in Ob/Gyn office and when ladies come in to get their csection staples out, they would be so worried about it, then I start removing them and they always go "is that it? That's not bad". I hope you have the same experience.  Is there a reason why you had an open procedure-just curious...

Unfortunately in my experience, it just took time for my gas to go away, even the gas-x didn't help all that much...

Like you, after the first two days post-op(I was in a lot of pain those first 2 days), I felt good and was surprised by it.  When I was 5 days post op my mom and I went to a big farmer's market and walked around for several hours-she was really amazed too.

As far as your food plan, it seems like that is a lot of juice.  I guess if it doem't make you dump, then it isn't a big deal but juice does have quite a bit of sugar.  I am only allowed sugar free, uncarbonated and decaffinated liquids since having surgery.  But I know every surgeon and their post op diet is different...

Keep up the good work and welcome to the loser's bench!

They really wanted me doing instant powdered soups for my first week, but I wasn't playing that. I made homemade carrot soup and potato soup and then blended them into oblivion. I had some Campbell's Tomato Soup yesterday (a special treat since it's an import here) and we bought a few others to make. My second day home, my wife made herself a Swedish pancake (we screwed up and filled the fridge with things for me and forgot to get groceries for HER!). I fess up that I had a small bite. Then yesterday, I had a bite of her banana. Everything else has been pretty much liquefied except my calcium chews.

I am supposed to be on three weeks of purees starting Thursday. I KNOW that won't last three weeks. We're already taking about things we think I should be able to have.

I really think it's all about what feels right for you.

Seriously, I was thinking I would be miserable for weeks. I am feeling so much better than I could have hoped. I feel like cooking for my wife and doing small things around the house. We've been walking every day. I am thinking of returning to school for an hour a couple of days this week.

I am kind of over my food plan. I eat every two hours, getting 1/2 cup of milk or yogurt, 1/2 cup of juice, 1/2 cup of soup, 1/2 cup of juice, 1/2 cup of soup and then 1/2 cup of milk or yogurt. I am really ready to chew something.

My only real complaint is the gas, but it seems to be working itself out. I don't like that I have staples. I guess I just assumed I would have stitches. lol We never discussed it. I am nervous about having them removed, as I have never had them before. I'm down 5 pounds since surgery, so all else is just small potatoes.

Is anyone else just surprised by how well you feel?

I had to do an optifast shake "diet"...  yep.. it was hard at first..  but after a bit it became easier...

As the others said.. keep busy.. get your closests cleaned out.... dust... shop...

and remember you can do it...  and there are a pile of people cheering you on... waiting for you on the other side..

any time I had to make meals for my family... i had a shake in hand.. put yourself on somewhat of a schedule.. and try to make yourself more conscious of it at first... after the first week.. it will be second hand to you...

every emotion you are feeling... I felt too... I actually said to myself..  wtf are you doing>>>  but being 4 weeks post op.. the feeling afterward about my self.. and the uplifted feeling I have is worth it..  it will be for you too...
