Good to know I am not alone. I cried today - thinking any relationship with food as I knew it is over. I have to force feed now. I am not sure I will ever be able to enjoy even a single bite.
I know a co-worker who had it over a year ago, she said food is a chore.
Another co-worker said she eats and enjoys. I hope I can at least enjoy it. I don't want to gain it back-ever!
You must have had to lose weight before surgery, right? Is that why you are down so much already? You go!!!

Cybil is the same way. What may good one day is not good the next. It drives me nuts but keeps me guessing LOL.. I def like the sassy comment.. Cybil is pretty sassy too. The funniest thing is even my kids and other half talk about Cybil..

don't worry I didnt either. I tried baby food and it was so bad. I really haven't had any problems other then eating way to fast. Just make sure to chew chew chew and take your time. I learned the hard way. I never want to feel that way again. its as to be like a heartattack.

I moved off the pureed foods a few days sooner as well. However, I did stick with the week-long torture known as liquids only for the first week after my RNY. I think for the initial recovery of the surgery you pretty much have to stick with that.  Additionally, my plan says I'm not to eat any RAW veggies or fruits OR red meats until 6 weeks out.  I've tried a few small bites of soft meat and a few bites of raw veggies and they were both ok.  I don't plan on having a STEAK dinner with a huge salad anytime soon but it was just curiosity that drove me to trying these "forbidden" foods a little early in the process.

Thanks for the great topic and keep up the good recovery work!

I dont think you should feel to guilty. my surgeons plan was soft food before i left the hospital. i have never done the clear liquid phase to regular food thang. i have only had regular food and when it doesnt sit well i know that it wasnt the right thing for me at that time and then i stick with yogurt for the rest of that day to allow "Cybil" to calm down. ive even had steak and am now only 6 weeks out as of today.
Unfortunately I have nothing to confess.  i wish i did. i would love to try something sweet but i dont have time to spend a day dumping and i actually want to dump. knowing that i dont dump would def be a bad thing for me.. oh well i am working on some wls friendly recipes and hopefully come up with something yummy soon

Just wanted to say hi. I am scheduled to have my sleeve surgery on Wednesday, Nov. 16. That's T minus 2 and counting!!! I'm so excited and nervous and excited!!! I live in the North Dallas area.

I've been obese for the last 26 years and I can't express how thrilled I am that this chapter in my life is coming to a close!

I am a mother of 4, grandmother of 2 and have been happily married to the same man for 27 years.

Looking forward to "meeting" more of you.
