Vitamins
Hi Mandy! As for the calcium, my NUT suggested Citracal Calcium Gummies. They are not the carbonate, but the citrate type--which she had said would work better for absorption. They are super easy to chew; very soft. They also have extra D. Not sure about the extra B12. I wasn't told about that. Hmmm...better look into that for myself?

Type vitamins in the search engine on this site. It will bring up numerous sites that sell specifically for bariatric patients. I chose Unjury-as all you need to take is in one chewable tablet-100 tabs per bottle for only $36.00. It does appear that you would probably need to supplement with some calcium, which they also sell for a nominal fee.
I like to mix my vitamins up over the day.
Once a day I drink one:
Multivitamin & Calcium Drink Mix (Citrus Splash) by Celebrate Vitamins
And spread the rest of these over the day:
2 MVI capsules from Building Blocks ( a bariatric vitamin company)
2 Antioxidant capsules from Building Blocks
3 Calcet Calcium chews (500mg each) Lemon is good, chocolate is awesome!
1 Bariatric Advantage Iron tab (60 mg)
1 Bariatric Advantage sublingual Vitamin B12
I also take senna with stool softener and a couple of fiber gummies a day as needed....
If you are buying at CVS, I would buy the Centrum Silver Chewables, that seems to be the most recommended vitamin for post-op that can be found at the usual pharmacies. Plus, CVS makes a generic of Centrum Silver so you can buy that and save even more $$. As long as the B12 is sublingual, any brand should do. Calcium needs to be in the form of Calcium Citrate not Carbonate.

Hi Mandy, just wondering how you are doing. I got my B 12 SL on line. The brand name is Puritan's Pride B-12 500mcg which I take twice a day. I also got centrum chewables, but I had to buy them on line because Walmart and CVS didn't have any...go figure? I bought Walmart equate calcium citrate+D. They're horse pills but dissolve in a very small amount of water or crystal lite and I just chug it! The iron I bought on line too. Bariatric Advantage chewable fe. That was a lot of money to shell out for 270 tabs it cost $69. I intend to switch to feosol when they run out. Vit C chewable I also got at Wallyworld, by spring valley, 500mg. Vit D dry, 5000IU I got from wonder laboratories on line. I crush the ones that I can't swallow for now. Most of the vits that I ordered on line were from various sites. I just bought from whoever had the least expensive price! Hope you are doing well. Do you still have incisional pain?
That sux about the calcium and mvi. Try the horse pills from walmart, their brand of ca++ with vit c. It dissolves in water, I use G3 to dilute and chug, it doesn't have a flavor and it's cheap. I also use centrum multi vites chewable..I don't care for them much now, didn't mind them pre op, but hey, I chew them fast and forget about it. Beats paying bariatric advantages prices.
