So Frustrated !!
I'm a nurse on a very busy L/D unit where 90% of the pts have epidurals and can't turn themselves. This leaves me pushing, pulling, moving pts all day long. My MD originally said take off 2 weeks. I'm 1 1/2 weeks out and met with him today. I explained to him that there is NO light duty on my unit. He told me to take one more week and then go back and "take it easy". What part of there is no easy on my unit does he not understand? Sorry to vent, just very frustrated !!!!!!!!!!!! I'm going to call and talk with employee health tomorrow and see what they say.
Thanks for listening :)

The surgeon's nurse just returned my call. She was so rude, she states she mailed my paperwork out today and that it usually takes 72 hrs. Like I should be grateful that she is rushing for me. I told her that I wanted it faxed and she said well you should get it by tomorrow or Monday. I asked her what she put on the paper and she said that she does so many that she couldn't remember, that it will be here soon and I can read it. Talk about customer service HA!
First let me say: good for you for being a nurse. That's amazing. I want to go to nursing school but I'm afraid I won't be able to handle it. EEEK.
Sorry to hear that you are frustrated. Your situation sounds complicated because you have to meet the needs of your job, yet, take care of yourself physically. It's really important that you listen to your body and not over work it before it's ready.
What did employee health have to say? Any good news?
Hang in there!
