I have a confession......

hello...

ok.. I have a confession....  I have not been purree-ing my food....  lol..

I just could not do it.... my plan from my surgeon 2 weeks liquids..2 weeks puree-ed.. (sp).. 2 weeks soft... and then regular foods...

The texture of the foods.. when in the blender.. just grossed me out... I tried baby food... nah.. was not my cup of tea... and then my 6 year old daughter could not understand why she was not allowed to eat it too...lol

I have been reading all across the boards and it would seem that every surgeon and every country have different requirements when it comes to the after care meal plan...so...  I figured.. I can venture out a little bit from puree-ed hell...

But what I did do.. is make sure I made all of my food in crock pot.. ate home made soups...spag sauce and meat and lots of soft veggies..(no pasta\)...  ate soft meats..

I kind of tailored my food based on my pouch response and protein needs...

ok.. I feel better.. now that I have confessed to my peeps......

They really wanted me doing instant powdered soups for my first week, but I wasn't playing that. I made homemade carrot soup and potato soup and then blended them into oblivion. I had some Campbell's Tomato Soup yesterday (a special treat since it's an import here) and we bought a few others to make. My second day home, my wife made herself a Swedish pancake (we screwed up and filled the fridge with things for me and forgot to get groceries for HER!). I fess up that I had a small bite. Then yesterday, I had a bite of her banana. Everything else has been pretty much liquefied except my calcium chews.

I am supposed to be on three weeks of purees starting Thursday. I KNOW that won't last three weeks. We're already taking about things we think I should be able to have.

I really think it's all about what feels right for you.
Pretty pretty please, don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f*ckin' perfect.

you're not alone! I have been experimenting with advanced foods, as well as not pureeing. Our dietician told us if we wanted it-give it a try.
I'm glad you confessed, it made me feel better!

Confession is good for the soul!  So is bacon.

Don't feel tooooo bad.

I spoke to Lorraine last week and told her I was eating some soft foods (soft lasagna with zucchini instead of pasta), soft meats, overeasy eggs etc. and she said as long as I am tolerating it and making "wise choices", it was aaaaaaall good (hm, she didn't use those exact words, but you know what I mean).

Eggplant works well too!  I just used zucchini because the wee one is more likely to eat it than eggplant (same applies to the other half)

Let me know when your appointments are.  Are they serving Crystal Light at Tim's yet?  If so, my treat!

I am doing very well - moving and shaking.  Not a pretty sight always, but at least I am feeling good!

I pureed my soup once. It was disgusting.

I'm three weeks post-op, and I'm still struggling to find foods that don't upset my tummy. So I'm eating a lot of soup. I've tried some eggs over easy, but I can't stand eating it without toast. And toast makes me feel icky. Spaghetti sauce makes me feel icky. So does chicken.

I miss eating with starches. A lot. I would cheat and add a tiny bit so I can eat more variety, but my tummy won't allow it.
