Fall 2011 Super Secret Clubhouse!
Milk diet advice...
My 4 week milk diet begins on Monday, Nov. 14th. I'm going through a whirlwind of emotions right now. I'm pissed, sad, scared, nervous and have an enormous fear of failure. This is going to be a real test of my will power, that's for sure. It's crazy to think that the only thing holding me back is my relationship with food and how I rely on it. I keep telling myself, "we eat to live Amber, not live to eat"... But when you are 324lbs and have eaten yourself to as high as 350, you look at food as a means of survival. Now, to not have that is going to be a real challenge for me, to say the least. I know what I'm fighting for, I know that the end result is worth it and I feel like I'm capable, however, I'm just as fearful.
Any tips on how to survive the 4 weeks. What did an average day look like for you, drinking wise? Anyone else have a fear of failure?
Thanks for listening,
Amber

I did not have to do the milk diet, but I can commiserate with you. I am sure it is testing everything that you have thought made you, you. Hang in there and I am sure every emotion including fearful and anxiety is completely normal.
Just remember to do your best, and this is for a healthier you, but it is a hard break up with a friend so don't feel ashamed of all of your emotions.
Hang in there!

It's hard, I'm not going to lie. I was so scared of failure, but I did it and so can YOU !!! Keep busy, do something that you've been "meaning" to do-clean out the closets, dust the ceiling fans, clean out the pantry, reorganize the drawers, etc. Do something nice for yourself. When you are tempted drink more water, call a friend, get online.
I had to do an optifast shake "diet"... yep.. it was hard at first.. but after a bit it became easier...
As the others said.. keep busy.. get your closests cleaned out.... dust... shop...
and remember you can do it... and there are a pile of people cheering you on... waiting for you on the other side..
any time I had to make meals for my family... i had a shake in hand.. put yourself on somewhat of a schedule.. and try to make yourself more conscious of it at first... after the first week.. it will be second hand to you...
every emotion you are feeling... I felt too... I actually said to myself.. wtf are you doing>>> but being 4 weeks post op.. the feeling afterward about my self.. and the uplifted feeling I have is worth it.. it will be for you too...

buy some sugar free coffee syrups at cash and carry, they will save your life. there were a few times i needed something that wasnt sweet and drank broth but it is a slippery slope and can make you crave other things. honestly i gave myself a break at 2 weeks and ate some pizza. lol then i felt like i could keep going,
if it makes you shaky or headaches etc ask the dr if you can add protein powder for a weak protein shake. it made a big difference for me! i stalled and stopped losing and then started with "shakes" and lost 18 in 2 weeks.
drink a larger amount at one time like a meal instead of sipping all day, it will trigger a full feeling in your stomach instead of never feeling satisfied.
it also gave kellie and i bathroom troubles!
