Wow John what a weekend, I have had to use my CPR before but thankfully the person lived....I was only 13 at the time......blizzard in Nebraska and my dad the deputy sheriff was out picking up idiots off the interstate who did not believe the weather was that bad......the ambulance could not get through so we put the guy in our suburban with me, my dad and one EMT....of course dad was driving so that left me and the EMT to care for him.....

Yes...thank you Gayle.
We certainly do want you all to feel welcome. Over the next couple of months you have a choice on how you want this 2010 year to begin. I was just telling my wife how happy I am with the start of this new year. I've found some new foods to keep me interested in losing weight.
I stopped at KFC and had some very good chicken yesterday. For some reason I thought these last 3 years that KFC was too evil to visit. I visited their nutrition site and found that if you removed all of the breading from an extra crispy or regular chicken breast you would only have 150 calories and 31 grams of protein...wow.
I love my new turkey pastrami roll-ups with alfalfa and bean sprouts. I throw a little Laughing Cow cheese in there and maybe a tamed jalapeno or two and what a wonderful tastebud party.
I also bought a double pack of Jenni-O turkey breast tenderloins. 111 grams of weight, 100 calories and a whopping 23 grams of protein...so savory.
Have a great week. I'm just a bit disappointed that more of you have not at least made yourself accountable. You do not have to give your weight...just update the group as to how close you are to your 2010 goal. We want to hear from you...it is the first step in getting this under control...admission of a need for change. As Gayle said, we are here for you. We will not judge you.
I'm not trying to shock anyone, but I had a man die out in front of my house last Tuesday. He tried to dart across my local road and wa**** in the side without wearing his seatbelt. I was the first one on the scene and I literally watched this man die...not to get too graphic...but as I learned, the CSI look is really what they look like. He had no pulse so we had to pull him from his pickup in ord to start CPR.
Needless to say...my new resolution...I am not letting one day go by. I encourage you to live life as full as you can and don't put off today what you can get accomplished. Henry has no second chance this week, but we do. Henry, may you R.I.P.

I see we have some new faces to the group, I want to welcome all of you and encourage you to post, let us know what your challenges are and how you try to overcome. You never know what might spark something for someone else.
Topic: RE: Hit with the flu bug!
So sorry about the flu. Hope you are able to avoid it yourself. I work at a college, so I got both the normal and the H1N1 vaccine. College students are the wisest when it comes to their own health--and therefore everyone else's.
I did learn that the term for sneezing into you elbow is "dracula sneeze." Heard it on NPR, so it must be right!
I do like just dancing around the kitchen (good floor for it) but hip hop, not so much. That's the great thing about the wide range of music available today. There's something for every taste.
I'm still battleing my winter funk--there is something so very wrong when scraping off the car in the morning one thinks, "It's not so bad today" and it is eight degrees outside. Eight degrees is never a good thing!

My apologies if this posts twice....having computer issues.
I hope you get your kids well without you getting ill yourself. Great idea about the moving to the music. I know at the gym I tend to work out a little longer and a little harder when I have my mp3 player with me. I also tend to work out a little longer when I have a book on the stair master.

hi again, Saly :)
instead of moving to Saudi Arabia, lol, maybe you could invest in a wii fit, with a balancing board. we bought one for the family for x mas, and it is soo much fun. You exercise without the feeling of ' aaah, exercise' if you know what I mean?
there were times I did 2 hours on it, and was surprised afterwords how *I* would do 2 hours of anything physical!!!!
I usually start up with something that burns calories, like walk/run/jog, or steps (and yes, even that is fun!, you walk on an island, with the ocean right there, you walk through valleys, and over grass, up the hill and down to a bridge, if you let you fantasy get going, you are feeling like you are right there... its soo cool)
then after 30 Minutes of that, I pick fun stuff, and mind you, its still exercise, but its stuff I really want to do, and look forward to... like the obstacle course, or snow fight, or ski jumping...
just an idea, and NO, I am not a sales woman for the wii!! lol

Topic: RE: Weighing in accountability options
Thanks for doing this, John.
after playing around a little, I was able to copy/paste your weight in page, then deleted your stats, and put my own in.
if I understand this right, we are just coming back once a week, edit our post, and put in the new weight results for the week, right?
I like this a lot, it won't clog up the page, its neat, and one can watch his/her own progress, and see how everybody else is doing in the course of the month, without searching the whole board for weight in results.
I bookmarked the weight in page, so it is even easier for me to go back to it, without searching for it.
I hope everybody in here has a great week, Karin
