Glad you found us and the group support is helping you to reach within yourself and succeed...Keep journalling, it REALLY helps, if only to admit to yourself what exactly you are eating and seeing where to make adjustments...Thank you for the gentle reminder to me, via your own post that exercising EVERY day goes a long way, my February goal is to exercise, even if its only a 15 minute power walk, and DO IT every day...

By the way, how much have you lost, we would love to see the post on our accountability and add it into our monthly group total...

Sometimes life just gets in the way.....I have spent the last two weeks dealing with hospitals and doctors who do not want to listen.  I have had to watch my mom be in pain, but finally things are looking up, so now I have to gt my life back on track, so together we can do this.  I have not been on a scale in two weeks, and am a little afraid to get on mine in the mornin, BUT I have to start somewhere, so that is where I am going to start.

Alesia,

WOW....what a great motto for our little group...you found it; "The goal is to get to clean living and eating, and then stay there".

I admit that I personally hit a bit of a bump this weekend when I celebrated how well things went in January. As a result I'll probably see a small gain this week, but never fear...I'm in this for the long haul. We just have to climb back on this horse each time we make a poorer choice or two. I've honestly learned more about how to get (or feel) back in control than I ever felt at anytime in 2009. I was so ready to put 2009 behind me and with everyone working together here I'm confident we all can look off to December with a better life.

Have a great week and a great February,

John

Thanks for the call to arms John,  you are doing fantastic ...My own progress is less than stellar, still struggling to really get myself on course...With this morning's weigh-in, I have set the course of recommitment...January finds me down 2 lbs from the start of the month, not as much as I had hoped for, but in all honesty have not been giving the effort all that I could...Have my eye on the goal, if I can just keep up the downward trend I will make it...Its a long haul to December, the goal is to get to clean living and eating and then stay there...

I do understand about when there is turmoil there is a tendency to eat.  I'm finishing my lunch now and plan to get in another walk afterwards.

I try to be positive about the snow--even tried to sell a few people on how despite everything, it does look lovely (at least falling and in the trees).  No one was buying it!  It wouldn't be so bad if we didn't still have three and four foot piles of it everywhere.  More than one person has lost a bumber getting it caught on the crusty, now frozen snow piles.  And it will all still be here until spring when we the season will turn to flooding.  It just makes everyone grouchy.  I just have to learn how to be grouchy without turning to chocolate.

Sorry about your weekend.  Mine was not great--food wise.  There is trouble in our church, so I went to eat at McD's.  ha-ha    Glad about your walk in the gym.  I walked in my neighbohood for 2 miles.  I live in the South.  Sorry about the snow.

The fates have conspired against me this weekend--monthy hormones, stress over taxes, work demands, possibly moving out of state, general state of finances, and more d*** snow.  I didn't get in my regular exercise and didn't eat well.

But today will be better.  When I got to work the computer system was down, so I took advantage of the time and went for a walk in the gym.  So that's a start.  And once I get back on track in one area, it is easier to get back on track in all areas.

Here's to a good week.

You're absolutely right John .. I have been told I have been where most end up at .. and I do realize that the 120 mark is definitely not good either .. but do need to get rid of what I've gained because of me and not cuz something is wrong with my pouch .. smile .. have started with the veggies and the protein and just making myself more aware of what I'm eating and going from there .. and of course the exercising .. I have been lax in that .. had been going to the gym and worked with a trainer but then got away from it .. so am trying to get back on track with that as well .. so everything can work together the way it was meant to be ..

I know Dr Steward needed to make the move to be closer to his family but I do actually still see him .. I follow up with him on other issues I had .. I have family in the same area and so I do travel for that .. I agree that it is sad that he doesn't work in the bariatric world .. he helped alot of people ..

Sounds like you're doing good too! .. thanks for the encouragement ..

Rhonda
