Losing 11 lbs is great.  What were you doing to keep it up?  I'm 2 1/2 years out and have started to gain in the last couple of months.  I have very little self control where eating is concerned.  I did go swimming today...haven't exercised much at all in the last few months either.  I joined this group to try to get some motivation.  I will start the weigh ins on Mar 1.

Hopefully posting here will give both of us the help we need!

Good Luck

Hey Deb

How are you doing with the 15 pounds you wanted to lose. Also would you mind sharing the diet your doctor had you on pre-op.

Hi Everyone, I'm bumping our fearless leader John W. and starting the next accountability check-in...Its time for all you posters, occasional & lurkers to check in...

#5 (Feb 1-7)          140(Feb 8th)          +1(for the week)                125(goal)
#6 (Feb 8-14)        138                           -2                                         125
#7 (Feb 15-21)      137                          -1                                         125
#8 (Feb 22-28)

Weight lost for February :  _____

Its been a up and down week, was as low as 135.8 for a hot minute one day, its amazing to me how much fluctuation comes into play on a daily basis...This is why my goal range is actually +/- 3 lbs from my end of year goal of 125...Right now just getting it back below 130 would be fantastic...I've been pretty focused on making good choices and giving myself a pat on the back  for managing to keep it in pretty good control even on the weekends ( which seem to be my worst enemy whne it comes to self-sabatage )...

Staying away from continuous grazing has really helped curb the cravings and making a dent in my daily cal intake which in turn, is working to get the scale moving in the right direction...

How are y'all doing...Pls check in

Hang In There Sally

I'm sorry you are struggling with the winter blues...Don't let them win!  You can do it, you just have to get going on the positive cycle and then hold on to it tight...

Keep up posted...

Topic: Lousy couple of weeks

It seems the fates have conspired to make for a couple of lousy weeks--work stress and massive time obligations, bad pms, not sleeping, and major s**** weather.  Not an excuss just the reality.  I always gain and lose with pms but this month it was worse than normal.  Didn't get my walking in due to work demands.  And this endless snow and cold is turning me into Major Grumpy--Grumpy's older sister!

I need to find some coping mechanisms for these times, as I don't expect things to get better soon (for Spring, I'm hoping for May).  I'm trying to address the lack of sleep via the doctor, but so far the best I can get is five hours of good sleep with medication.  And I don't like taking something every night.

For the carb/sweet cravings, I'm hoping to try using healthy, high fiber carbs like barley, oats, etc.  At least they are filling and good for you.  Maybe that will meet the bodies demand and reduce the cravings?

At least I know that this too shall pass and things will get back on track.  It is just frustrating to always be fighting the same pounds--off for two/three weeks then back on for one/two.  Sigh.

Good Morning to all - I'm reporting in and taking account...

#5 (Feb 1-7)          140(Feb 8th)          +1(for the week)                125(goal)
#6 (Feb 8-14)        138                           -2                                         125
#7 (Feb 15-21)
#8 (Feb 22-28)

Weight lost for February :

Loss was greater then 2 lbs earlier in the week, let a few too many of the white carbs back into my diet on Saturday & Sunday...Which I think contributed to the the final loss number of 2 lbs, also no planned exercise on the weekends & since its cold and snowy I lazed about most of the day both days...Back on plan today, logged my foods and liquids onto "thedailyplate" and will attend support group tonight...

Trying to take a moment to reflect on the nuances of my eating and activities during the week so I can see how they affect my choices and ultimately the # on the scale before I post to accountability - great way to see where I've been and set a plan to adjust for the next week

I just feel so GREAT. It is a great feeling to be back in control. I like having this group and a place to report in each week - good or bad makes no difference. Well, it is not coming off very fast, but I just want to be down to 200 by the summer and I'm well on my way. I'd then like to stablize in the "below 200" range for the remainder of the year. I don't honestly feel like I'm really having to suffer. I hit it very hard Monday thru Friday and then goof off a bit on the weekends. It seems to work for me and recharges my batteries enough to do it well for 5 days.

I'm still focused on lots of fish and heavy, heavy, heavy on the veggies. I still seem to have great luck with keeping my caloric intake at <500 until 4pm and then I come home from school and have at least 200 cals in high protein. Then I have a normal dinner.

Have a great week everyone. Remember - we are in this for the long haul

John

Good mornin', ya'll.

Well, I have gotten some saline back in my band and now have some restriction.  I have lost 1 pound each week for the last 2 weeks.  I am back on track and will have that extra 20 pounds gone before I know it!
