Drop 10 for 10 Challenge (10410)
New to this group
Hello,
I am new to this group. I had my lapband and lost most of my weight 3 years ago. Two years ago I had an infection in the band and had a revision to RNY. I lost a bit more for a total of 95 lb. I have gained 16 pounds this year and have slipped back into old eating habbits. And, that is why I am here. I am dedicated to this surgery and to the lifelong changes I committed to make.
I have renewed my committment to protein. I was realizing that I hardly got any protein at all. My goal is 70 grams and I have forgotten how hard it is to get that much protein in. I have been a sporadic exerciser. I will try to become more diligent with that. I even bought a Wii Fit plus to go with my Wii. That mean lady told me my Wii age was 51. Yeah, that is coming down!!!
I am not sure if I will tend to be an active member of the posts on this group, but know I am there gaining inspiration even if I don't respond.
Thanks to you all for this group. I think it is just what I need right now!

Welcome Laura
I've heard of several people *****vised Lap to RNY, am glad the revision helped you to get closer to your ultimate goal...One thing I know for me is that about year 3 1/2 I suddenly had a quick bounce back weight gain of 10 lbs, which my surgeon and nut assure me is very normal - BUT - I know, personally I would like to give those extra few lbs back to the scale god ...Anyway, that is why I came to this group, 10 lbs in 12 months seemed very do-able, so here I am - ready, posting and tracking...Hope to see you around on the board with questions, support and at least a monthly check-in for accountability...

Hi Laura,
How nice to see you again. You were one of my first contacts on here. Good stuff with the WiFit. For the past two months, I work out with a trainer on Monday nights with a small group, Wed nights, hubby and I do Yoga in Adult Edc. Women's Health Magazine online had a running program to get started running again. In my day, I would run 5-6 miles every day with a day of rest on Sunday. You start out slow but gain momentum quickly. I have been doing it every other day at home and feeling pretty great. Tonight, after I ran, I did a little yoga with the tv. Monday, I get weighed and measured at the trainers and I know I have lost. My point in all this is, I have been at a standstill for about a year and a half now. I finally, feel like I'm moving again on the scale. Check out your tv stations. Someone told me last week about free shows with exercise classes on the television. Do the WiFit. Run after the kids. Get moving. I learned from the trainer that within 45 mins of working out - you must have some protein. It helps build muscle mass. Muscle means metabolism.
Wishing you all the best. I remember praying for you when you had your revision. I am so glad you are okay. Remember you have come so far.
