Hey Brook...

Hang on, you are doing awesome by just choosing to stay the course ...Don't know how far out post-op or how close to goal...What I do know is the last 10-15 lbs are the hardest to lose, the closer to goal you are, the slower your body will be to let it go - this is true the 1st time you reach goal and every time you repeat the process because of regains...Remember, even "regular" people struggle with the last few lbs, just stay the course, its going to happen...

Well Brook,

I agree that it is so good that you are not throwing that towel in on the new resolution. As you recall from the old post-op days, just when you felt that the scale was not moving it would happen. If you are doing everything on track, it will happen...just keep on that good track.

Look on the good side...only 4 more months of winter up there in Michigan...especially in Kalkaska. Gotta love Michigan...the two seasons state...July and winter. I hope you aren't offended by my humor as I grew up in Traverse City (as you may recall).

Just keep on going..you are getting there.

Are you journaling and keeping track of all of your intake? What are the foods you are using that are helping you the most? Drinking loads of water? Coarse protien like chicken, egg whites, tuna, turkey breasts, etc.

Go treat yourself at KFC. You can have the Extra Crispy chicken breast (they cost only $2.50 here) and then peel off all of that awful skin (throw it in the trash before you even eat if you are like me) and you get a treat at 150 cals and 31 grams of protein....I look forward to this when I adventure to the "big city".

Soon to find the success you are looking for...but you already sound like a great success to me.

A word of caution with the KFC chicken...eat slowly and listen to that pouch. I must have been crazy the first time I had it about a month ago. I ate two of them and was I ever feeling it for the rest of the day. It just tasted so good that I was eating and not chewing the way I should. I have had it since then and only had one and felt VERY satisfied after eating it slower.

I've learned not to order ONLY two chicken breasts at a time anyway. When I ordered I had to wait for my order to be assembled and the lady called out (quite loudly I might add) my exact order and left out the word "chicken". Everyone in the whole store turned to to look up at the front of the store...can you say a bit awkward...yeah???

You will get everything back in line and stay on your way to success. I'm sure that you will have some business to attend to in the future in TC and when you do, you will enjoy the KFC treat.

I still struggle with chicken also.  And I want the unhealthy crunchy skin!  So I just bypass the KFC and go for Wendy's chili or five piece nuggets when I want fast food.  But I do find I can do ground chicken or turkey (I grind it myself in the food processor) so I can make meatballs, sausage, etc.  from that for a white meat option.

I vote for the early end of winter.
