Alesia,

WOW....what a great motto for our little group...you found it; "The goal is to get to clean living and eating, and then stay there".

I admit that I personally hit a bit of a bump this weekend when I celebrated how well things went in January. As a result I'll probably see a small gain this week, but never fear...I'm in this for the long haul. We just have to climb back on this horse each time we make a poorer choice or two. I've honestly learned more about how to get (or feel) back in control than I ever felt at anytime in 2009. I was so ready to put 2009 behind me and with everyone working together here I'm confident we all can look off to December with a better life.

Have a great week and a great February,

John

Wow, reading everyones posts has been inspiring, encouraging and enlightening! Thanks everyone for posting and keep up the good work!!!

I haven't been exercising as much as I would like to due to a bum knee. However, I have been doing very well on the diet and have lost 3-lbs. I know it's only 3 lbs. but I'll take em! Once the swelling in my knee goes down I'll be back exercising which should help drop a few more pounds.

My goal is to get back to 135 and I'm at 147 right now. So, need to lose 12 more pounds to reach my goal! Wish me luck!

Cheers!
Lisa

Yes Lisa,

I agree the people here are inspiring. Three pounds is three pounds and almost a pound a week. I think it is so much harder to lose weight now since we were all post-ops and had that weight dropping off left and right in the old days. For some reason we have a harder time wrapping the mind around the slower weight loss as being a good thing...but it really is.

Keep up the good work. Watch out 135...here comes Lisa.

John

With your three pounds our cumulative total is 27.8 I think.

I was too ashamed to post. I think I am back up to where I started ... have acted so unaccountable! Trying to read posts to get inspired.

JTR,

Oh please don't feel ashamed...thank you so much for chiming in. Just keep on reading our good threads and try to find one or two things that you can relate to and then start from there. When you come back at the end of February (or before) you can share something positive. It can be a pound or two gone or some new habit that you have mastered. Just start small and build.

We are here for you....

Hi all-

I've found this wonderful forum a bit late but here goes!

First, big thanks to John - what a great idea to help us stay accountable and get back on track.

My quick WLS bio - I had lap RNY in April 2008 and have mostly done really well. My surgery day weight was 337 and my lowest weight (just before the holidays about 4 months ago) was 183. Today, I'm 194. I got here by letting myself enjoy the extended holiday season a bit too much, forgetting the basics of limited snacking, avoiding carbs, and drinking lots of water, and the worst one I think has been virtually no exercise. The winter is over and spring is almost here and it's time to stop making excuses and get with the program, so here I am. It seems like people here are using this board as a place for a monthly weigh-in and I'd like to do that as well. So...
Highest weight: 337 (April 2008)
Lowest post-op weight: 183 (December 2009)
Current weight: 194 (March 2010)
Goal weight for 2010: 150
Goal for next weigh-in: 183 (April 11, 2010)

I'll be checking in soon!
Stephanie
