I see we have some new faces to the group, I want to welcome all of you and encourage you to post, let us know what your challenges are and how you try to overcome.  You never know what might spark something for someone else.

Yes...thank you Gayle.

We certainly do want you all to feel welcome. Over the next couple of months you have a choice on how you want this 2010 year to begin. I was just telling my wife how happy I am with the start of this new year. I've found some new foods to keep me interested in losing weight.

I stopped at KFC and had some very good chicken yesterday. For some reason I thought these last 3 years that KFC was too evil to visit. I visited their nutrition site and found that if you removed all of the breading from an extra crispy or regular chicken breast you would only have 150 calories and 31 grams of protein...wow.

I love my new turkey pastrami roll-ups with alfalfa and bean sprouts. I throw a little Laughing Cow cheese in there and maybe a tamed jalapeno or two and what a wonderful tastebud party.

I also bought a double pack of Jenni-O turkey breast tenderloins. 111 grams of weight, 100 calories and a whopping 23 grams of protein...so savory.

Have a great week. I'm just a bit disappointed that more of you have not at least made yourself accountable. You do not have to give your weight...just update the group as to how close you are to your 2010 goal. We want to hear from you...it is the first step in getting this under control...admission of a need for change. As Gayle said, we are here for you. We will not judge you.

I'm not trying to shock anyone, but I had a man die out in front of my house last Tuesday. He tried to dart across my local road and wa**** in the side without wearing his seatbelt. I was the first one on the scene and I literally watched this man die...not to get too graphic...but as I learned, the CSI look is really what they look like. He had no pulse so we had to pull him from his pickup in ord to start CPR.

Needless to say...my new resolution...I am not letting one day go by. I encourage you to live life as full as you can and don't put off today what you can get accomplished. Henry has no second chance this week, but we do. Henry, may you R.I.P.

Wow John what a weekend, I have had to use my CPR before but thankfully the person lived....I was only 13 at the time......blizzard in Nebraska and my dad the deputy sheriff was out picking up idiots off the interstate who did not believe the weather was that bad......the ambulance could not get through so we put the guy in our suburban with me, my dad and one EMT....of course dad was driving so that left me and the EMT to care for him.....

Okay, okay.  Next week I'll post my progress. I've just been in such a foul mood, that I don't even want to look at the scale much less get on it.

It is so easy to forget we are all on borrowed time and to not take time to appreciate everything.  Yes, even how lovely snow really does look on the evergreens on a full moon night.
