Drop 10 for 10 Challenge (10410)
Thanks for Inviting Me too The Group...
Genie,
You are so very welcome here....the more the merrier.
Anyone should feel free to add on to your thread below to tell a short synopsis about themselves.
I joined OH three years ago last month and because I teach school I waited to have my surgery until school let out in May of 2007. I used that time to drop about 40 pounds and got ready for the surgery itself. I was down to about 300 the week of my surgery. I got down to where I am right now by December of 2007 and then dropped a few more pounds in early 2008. After gaining a few pounds at the end of 2008 I managed to maintain mostly where I was all through 2009. Then December rolled around and I'm just not ready to gain this back...kind of in panic mode to tell the truth.
My wife had the surgery a year after mine In June of 2008. She is inching toward her goal and is within ten pounds of that. She wants a Coach purse when she reaches her goal and then for maintaining it for 3 months. I can certainly live with and encourage that...she has earned it. Christine is down over 100 pounds since she began her journey. We just feel so blessed with all that has happend in the past three years. Now I'm very focused at staying successful in 2010.
That is where all of you come in. I had my best success when I was tuned into OH following my surgery...so I'm back at my roots where it all started. Only this time I have the help of you veterans to help keep me focused.

Regain of 20 pounds has thrown me for a loop - will not let this get the best of me - what am I doing about it?

I am 5 years post op. I neve made it to goal; the lowest I got was 187 down from 297 or so before surgery. I am actually a revision. I had the old stapling only back in the 1990's. I only lost 30 from that and bounced up and down from then on. All it did was make be borderline bulimic, if i wanted to eat more than would fit I would just go vomit then go back for more.
I am fairly active now which is such a surprise to me. I actually love to exercise now! I am contemplating a mini triatholan this year. I have done several 5 and 10 K's and one 12 K. I started with a running group 16 months ago which keeps me moving!
I had an extensive hernia repair and a TT the end of October. I was not able to exercise much; hence the 5.5 pound gain! I am happy in the 180's, would love to see the 170's but will be contenet to get back where I was.
