Thank you. I know know I should prepare for bad weeks and stalls. This is so hard sometimes but I know I can do it.

No symptoms! That is AWESOME, congrats! I'm so happy for you.
And I know what you mean about forcing yourself to eat/drink. I couldn't care less about food at this point, it's a chore to actually eat now!

Thanks Pam! I never imagined it would be THIS hard to get my food and fluids in. If I didn't know that it would wreck my health, I just wouldn't eat. I've had it drilled into my head all my life, "if you aren't hungry, don't eat. When you do eat, stop as soon as you are not hungry any more."
I have had no symptoms of GERD or gastroparisis. Woo hoo!!
Karen, glad to hear your medical team was able to reassure you about your progress. I know it's hard to get the foods/fluids in at first; I feel like I'm going to burst after I eat 1/4 cup of anything except cottage cheese or yogurt!
How's your GERD doing, any improvement yet?

Ack, I'm sorry I didn't see your message sooner, Shannon! I understand the frustration about clothes, I haven't changed sizes yet either, and it stinks! But I was wearing my clothes very tight, since I refused to actually buy clothes any larger than 24's, LOL! So now I still wear 24's (for the moment anyway) but they actually fit instead of looking like sausage casings! But, look...30 pounds? That's GREAT!! Keep at it, woman, and you WILL drop sizes soon! Remember it's not a sprint, it's a marathon, and you got this!
My only piece of real advice: Work hard at upping your fluids, especially water. 48 oz isn't enough to help flush out your system IMO, I think if you consistently get 70-100 ounces (I know, I know, it's hard to do!) you'll see more progress.
Good luck, and keep us posted!

Hey lady, I was just thinking about you yesterday! I'm so sorry to hear about the dehydration and ulcer, that's a shame, but I'm glad they could find the problem and hopefully you'll heal up in no time. And congratulations on the weight loss! I share your excitement, I'm 2 pounds away from being under 300, so I know how great that feels!
You keep on being excited, and keep on truckin', as they say! Good to hear from you.

Anne, I had that same feeling of fullness after surgery. It's gotten much better in the four weeks since then, and I don't notice it at all now unless I take too many swallows of water or liquids. I think it's just a reaction to the rearrangement of your anatomy, and that it will go away in time. It may also be helping that I'm on Protonix, does your surgeon have you taking a PPI or anything similar?
As far as sleeping, I slept in a recliner for the first few nights at home. It was much more comfortable than lying down. After about a week I was able to lie on my side, though, and now I can sleep in any position I want to without any discomfort. If you're thirsty, by all means drink something, but consider putting a bunch of pillows in bed to keep your head elevated or sleeping in an actual recliner for a few more days.
It sounds like you're actually doing well, considering your surgery was just a few days ago! I hope you continue to feel better.

Good morning Anne,
Unfortunately I did not have the fullness, but you know, my surgeon prescribed Prilosec for me on day 1, it helped with the heartburn. I don't have it anymore. I too was up 4-5 times a night thirsty, so I bought a Camelback drinking cup that I keep in bed with me still. I did not sleep in my bed at first. I slept in the recliner and it took a lot of pressure off the stitches. When I did move to the bed I slept with a hard pillow behind my back, a firm one in front of my stomach and a medium one between my knees. So I slept on my side, if I went on my back, I had to create a wedge with the pillows to elevate my torso and then put 2 pillows under my knees. Hope this helps.
So glad that you are home and recovering! Take care.
It has been awhile since I have posted. I am hanging in there. Had to deal with dehydration (went to the ER) I had a scope done and dealing with an ulcer. Still on soft foods because of it. As of today I am down 50.5 lbs from highest weight and 33.5 lbs from surgery weight. Which brings me to .6 lb to be under 300 lbs.. I am so close to hitting my first real goal.
Pretty excited.
It's been about a week since I have been on due to surgery and travel. Thanks to everybody for the kinds words and encouragement.
Now that I'm home, I am having an issue that I would like to get other peoples thoughts on.
Two things- first I have a "fullness" that is in my chest all of the time that I can't seem to get rid of. I try to constantly sip on something but at times I don't think I can take another drink. Along with that "fullness" is a heartburn feeling, did anybody else experience that and any suggestions to alleviate this feeling?
Second- I have been unable to sleep through the night since surgery. I wake up 3-4 times a night and need to get up for at least a half hour to drink some fluids and then have difficulty going back to sleep. I think laying flat is causing discomfort and sitting up is helping. Thoughts/suggestions on this would also be appreciated.
