We do indeed deserve it, as do our bodies.
My gym has 3 aqua fit classes a week. The rest of the time the pool is open for free use. Then there's a hot tub and sauna to relax the muscles.

I apologize for asking this question...but has anyone else had a battle with Iron and it's unpleasant side affects? On Saturday I thought I was going to have to go to the ER...7 1/2 hours to accomplish such a seemingly simple task! I take Benefiber in the morning and evening, I even went and got some suppositories...OMG thought I was dying. I am now adding Flax power to everything, have invested in couple boxes of Smooth Move tea...Any suggestions? I know this sounds stupid...but if I have gone through Menopause do I REALLY need all this freakin iron?...sorry makes it sound like I am sucking it down, I only take 1 tablet at night. (i understand the malabsorption but good grief)
would love your input, thanks much!
Thanks so much for your post!! I thought I was the only one who would like to duct tape their lips shut forever!! We belonged to Golds Gym for about 15 years and they are also a hard sell!! Seriously...back the hell off! Right now I belong to Fitness 19, but my husband is going to add me onto his 24 Hour Fitness membership...they have a pool...so looking forward to swimming some laps and also setting in the sauna. Congratulations on the gym though! We deserve it!
I will remember you in my prayers Pam, I hope all goes well. Thank goodness for fluoroscopy! Hope you will be feeling better soon. I know, since I have tried eating chicken, if it is canned I do ok, but fresh off the bird makes me gag. Take care!
Oh yuck Pam, what a pain! I'm sorry this happened to you and you'll be in my prayers Friday.

They don't offer that, thank goodness. If they did, I'd say my diet is 100% under the guidance of a nutritionist.
Today at my one month follow-up with my surgeon, I told him that I've been having trouble with vomiting. I'm not really bringing up any food (except when I definitely eat too much) but anywhere to an hour to two hours after eating, I start vomiting up liquids. Anything I drink comes right back up, and then I continue doing that for several hours afterward. It happened this morning, as a matter of fact, up to and including in the parking lot when I arrived for my appointment! I notice this more often after dense protein meals (chicken, fish) than softer foods. He suspected that I have a stricture, and had me do a quick fluoroscopy in the office to confirm. Yep, it's not major, but there's definitely a delay in my pouch emptying. So I get to go Friday for a scoping and dilation. In the meantime the dietician advised me to back off from dense proteins and stick to soft stuff with shakes to supplement, and after the dilation I can try to advance my diet again.
At least now I know it wasn't all me; I'd been worried that I wasn't following directions and chewing enough and eating slowly enough!

I know exactly what you mean. Wait until they try to sell you on their nutritional counseling and supplements!!

I have a wonderful treadmill here, but I can't use it anymore because of my knees. They have a bike there with the pedals at an angle that takes all pressure off my knees. I also know from the times when I've been thin I have to do weight training - or my body is a mess no matter what my weight. I politely turned down their VERY hard sell yesterday for hiring a personal trainer. It really ticks me off when they do that. I wanted to say, "NO - I do NOT see the value in paying an extra $200 a month for one 50 minute training session per week." Never mind the fact there was an enrollment fee of $150 and it was a one year contract. GRRRRRRRRR

Good for you! And after you work out, you get to relax all those muscles in a sauna...mmmm! Heavenly!
I hope it works out well for you. I'm still getting into the groove of getting on my treadmill every day, signing up at a gym seems like a huge thing to me. You're a great inspiration, though!
