Its so weird how all our steps are different. I have no required liquid diet other than the 2day preop stuff. I've been doing lots of stuff to prepare, and I agree when it seems tough just keep your eye on the prize! You are so close!

I do not have to go on the liquid diet until 3 days before surgery.

I've been doing a mostly liquid diet (protein shakes) with an occasional Greek yogurt with non flavored protein powder added.  I've lost 28 lbs in the past month.  My surgery is in less than a month.  I saw the nutritionist and the medical bariatric doctor both thought the surgeon might let me skip the 2 week meal replacement plan, since I'm losing a fair amount with what I'm doing.

Janice - I'm sure you will do fine with the liquid diet.  My husband has had pizza, Chinese food, cookies and candy in the past month; it doesn't tempt me in the least.  I guess I have my eye on the long term goals.  You will do a great job with it, and I'm jealous your surgery is so close!!

I've been pretty nervous about this liquid diet thing.  I was actually pleasantly surprised that I can add small amts of fruit to my protein drinks to make them smoothie like.  Also, I can have plain oatmeal with the protein powder added. I just woke up so I haven't had my first one yet.  I'll let y'all know how this goes.  I hear the first 48 hours is the hardest, so here's hoping to an easy transition.  I am very excited that although my surgery is a little under 2 weeks away, I feel like TODAY starts my weight loss journey.

Looks like so far I'm alone on the 17th, but have buddies going on the 16th and 18th.  I love that there are so many of us to ask and answer questions of each other, share our feelings and victories, and to know we have a solid base of support here.

I am not getting notifications, and I set up the site!  I've got to go back and review all the settings.  **sigh**

BTW - In case you're wondering, I teach tech art so I'm on the computer ALL day and evening... so if I get a notification I just answer it right then. Just didn't want you all to think I was hovering over my computer with nothing else to do! ;-0
