When my son turned 30 he complained that he felt "so old".  I told him thanks, that made me feel like I should start picking out my nursing home.

I can remember the most useless cr@p, but ask me where I put something important the previous day and I haven't a clue.  That's why I often say I have a little pea brain.

Hello! I am having mine in Cleveland. I have officially started the liquid diet this morning. Getting ready to make my first optifast shake. I will let you know how it goes. Just filled up my 64 oz water bottle, I find it easier to see how well I am doing throughout the day drinking my water.

It's awesome that someone else is from Ohio.

56 isn't so old unless your twenty something and I do remember the show. I just didn't pay enough attention I guess.   Too funny.

Back in the 90's, Tim Allen starred in a show called Home Improvement.  He played a sort of Bob Villa character on a TV show, only he was always doing things wrong and having accidents.  His family's neighbor (shared a back yard fence) was called "Wilson".  His character's schtick was that in the 9 or so years the show was on the air, they never showed his entire face.  It started out with him just having the nose up showing over the fence as he talked with Tim - actually he was usually giving Tim advice and using metaphors that Tim would then mix up when attempting to retell the story.  Anyway, to get to the point of the whole thing, every  time Wilson saw Tim out in his yard, he would greet him with, "Hiddy ho good neighbor!"

(I'm about to be 56.  I'm sooooooo old.)

I'm laughing out loud. I'm old enough to have heard the reference for sure.  I'm 49 in December.  But I confess that I don't get the reference even if I am old enough to, which I probably am.  Maybe you can help me out.

Hey Jess!  I'm from Ohio too!  I'm having my surgery on December 13th!  Where are you having your surgery at??  I'm having mine at Riverside.  I haven't had my pre-op appt yet, so I'm not sure how long I'll be on liquid diet.

Interesting that you are nervous about the surgery itself.  I am not nervousness about that part at all.  My nerves are all about the unknown that comes after.  Everyone reacts so differently to the surgery that it is hard to predict how I will feel and what my experience will be.  I feel like I am stepping into the unknown and that is always difficult.

So glad you are here.  I am into my 4th day on my 2 week liquids and it's really not too bad.  The protein shakes are really filling.  They said I could have 3-5 a day but I can only get 3 in.  I have found a few recipes that are really good and some not so much.  The good ones so far are mixing the vanilla with 1/2 banana and mixing the vanilla with 6 strawberries.  I also had ordered some of the Unjury chicken soup protein powder to get a break from the sweet and it's really good.  Tastes like the liquid in the ramen noodles.  Let me know if you find any delicious ones.  I've already lost 8 pounds.  Good luck!!!
