Hi everyone! My surgery is scheduled for Dec. 16. I start my pre-op liquid diet on Monday.
Thank You for posting this. That way we can send good wishes to the ones having surgery.
Here is a list of our members' surgery dates as I have them so far. I'm including first names, where they have been used by the member. I thought that putting the dates all in one place would make it easier to 'talk' to someone on or near your surgery date.
If I am missing your surgery date, please respond to this thread if you want to share your date. You may also share your first name if you want - but obviously you don't have to share either if you don't want to do so.
Also, please let me know if I've made an error.

I'm at Mayo. Tomorrow I get cross and type matched (just a guess; it's a separate non-fasting blood draw, scheduled just before another round of fasting blood work. I also get my preadmission paper work done, meet with anesthesia and the surgeon.
Then I'm done except for meeting with the pharmacologist and my afternoon nutrition workshop on 12/10. We've got this!!

My surgery is the day after yours, and it falls between my birthday and Christmas. Double gift to myself!!

Hello. My name is Shannon. I live in Clearwater Florida. I am having the vertical gastric sleeve done on 12/9/2013.I am on day 1 of the pre op diet. Other than a small headache, I'm doing ok. I submitted my referral to BCBS on 11/11/2013. It was denied because my employer had an exclusion policy. I am now going to Tijuana Mexico to have it done. I'm excited and scared. I am mainly mourning the things I cant have. But I tell myself it will be all worth it.

I'm I five days in on the liquid diet. That's going really well. I went to the surgeon's office for my pre-op stuff and I've lost 9 pounds since being there the first time. I was given my postop instructions and prescriptions to go get my meds. I then headed to the hospital to do preadmission, lab, xray, pulmonary function test, and ecg. I'm in between appts now, waiting to see the internist that they send all my results to, and he will clear me for surgery. Later after that, I meet with the nutritionist and counselor. It's been a full day but makes this so real. I'm not scared though, I'm ready. After today it's just continue my liquids until 12/3 when I'll start clear liquids and surgery on 12/4. I got this!!!!
Hi all! I'm Danielle and I'm from Olympia, WA. I'll be having my surgery on Dec 16th in Seattle, WA. I start my pre op diet on Wednesday. I haven't really let myself get nervous about the surgery itself yet, I'm actually more overwhelmed by all the Christmas stuff I need to get done before that day!
My 31st birthday is the 17th, I can't think of a better b-day present to myself :)
