As I approach my 2 month check-up (2/19), I am wondering how everyone else is doing. For those who have already had their 2 month check - how did it go?
How is everyone doing? I'm sure we'd all love to hear SVs and NSVs, as well as any problems or challenges people are having.
My weight hasn't stalled, but I'm losing at a much slower rate than was. I'm grateful that at least the scale is going down, albeit slowly. I'm consistantly getting my protein in, but am still struggling to get all my water in. One odd thing that has happened to me twice now (and never close to when I've eaten) is that I suddenly become very nauseous. I then have the dry heaves for a minute or two, and then I'm fine again. Nothing ever comes up. I'll mention it to my doctor when I see him; it's nothing serious - just weird.

awesome, thanks for the tips. I am a little sore this morning, not as bad as I thought...but for me it is always the 2nd day out where it burns. I think today I will do cardio, good idea to vary the routine. the 24 hour fitness that I joined has a lap pool and a walking pool, can't wait to get in there now.
Have a great day!
Good job, just don't over do it and be so sore you have to take a couple of days off. They have me doing weights on different body parts M-W-F, 20 minutes of cardio on weight days and 30 minutes of cardio on T-Th. After a full week of that, I needed the weekend off; then again I always have muscle and joint pain and fatique from my autoimmune disease.
I love walking laps in the pool. Walking forward I get the front and back of my legs, plus I do wide scooping motions with my arms which gets my shoulders and upper arms. To mix it up I also walk sideways, crab style, to get the inside and outside of my thighs.
worked out 2x today...early this morning I did 40 minutes on the elliptical, then 90 minutes of walking (only shoping) Then tonite after the superbowl I decided, hey why not go to the gym, no one will be there!!! YEAH!!! empty gym!!
did leg press 3 sets of 100 lbs, 15 reps, leg extensions 3 sets of 15 at 45 lbs, leg curls 3 sets of 15 at 60 lbs, calf raises 3 sets of 15 at 80 lbs, hip abduction 3 sets of 15 at 45 lbs, hip flexors 3 sets of 15 at 40 lbs and for the first time in 20 years...crunches 3 sets of 20 at 30 lbs!!
I feel like a million bucks...but I have a feeling tomorrow I will be sore! I have been walking and doing light work outs, but tonite my husband didn't go with me and I just got in the groove.
What a great liberating feeling!! I think on payday I am going to buy some goggles and start swimming a little too.
I thank God every day for allowing me to have the RNY and giving me the courage to not be afraid to go to the gym, put those leggins on and not care what anyone thinks.
Thanks Anne. It's great you can tell you are already making progress. Keep at it and you will have one smoking hot body!
I'm on the slow track on my gym. Because of my autoimmune disease, I have sore muscles and joints all the time - plus chronic fatigue. I went to the gym M - F last week, but came home and took a 2 hour nap. There goes the day! I am determined to stick with it though, and my body will just have to adapt. My favorite is walking laps in the pool for an hour. I feel it in my legs and upper arms afterward, but it's so peaceful and soothing while I'm doing it. It's my reward for the weight machines.
I have yet to try the sauna. Anyone used a sauna while on meds for high BP? I'm thinking it might not be a good idea. . . I guess I can always ask my internest at my next appointment.
My dietician recommened Milk of Magnesia. I need to use it 1-2 x/week, without taking iron. We'll see what my bariatric physician says about adding iron, Vit K, etc. on my 2 month visit.
Thanks so much Pam. I am taking 1- 50mg of Ferro-Sequels(ferrous fumate)at night. Thanks for the Miralax tip, I will buy some today. I haven't had another bout with it yet and hope not to ever again...ugh.
I've not had much of a problem with this myself, but I've seen people who have recommend Miralax quite often. What kind of iron are you taking, also? Some forms of it are more constipating than others, it seems.
I hope you get some relief soon!
