Welcome, we are glad you found us! I'll add your name to our list now.
I go the day before you. I'm excited, not really nervous at all. It probably comes from the fact that I used to be an RN and worked in an ICU (we also served as the recovery room after hours for emergency surgeries). I think nerves are perfectly normally - especially this close to surgery.
What kind of prep are you having to do?

Hi I just joined the group. My surgery is scheduled for December 18th. Nervous and excited.
Good to hear! Keep smiling, and hopefully things will continue going well for you.

Dotti - I'm sending the search dogs out for you. We haven't heard from you since your surgery, but we all want to know how you are doing. Please let us know when you feel able to do so!

Congratulations to those who have had surgery and are doing well. Thank you so much for checking in with us - you are inspirations!
(I'm halfway through my appointments at Mayo today; my surgery is one week from today!!)

It's a JP drain, has a little bulb on it. My surgeon routinely puts one in to drain from around the stomach area on the left side. I have to empty it a couple of times a day but where it's inserted is sore but it comes out Wed. I'm not having any trouble having a BM but it's all runny and oh it smells terrible!!! There's TMI!!! Glad you are doing well!
