Wahoo. That is great news. It feels good to have people notice that you are shrinking. Keep up the great work!!!

I had 3 incisions and 1 drain hole. Each one had brown surgical tape. They did not change the bandage until the 3rd day when I was discharged. I was able to shower with them. When I came home on day 4 ( I had surgery out of the country) I bought antibiotic band-aids which were waterproof. There was really nothing really hard about taking care of them. Keep them clean and dry. Tonight I showered and took the band-aids off. Cleaned with dial soap. I left the band-aids off for a while to get air.

Oh my goodness. You are not being nosey. I flew to Tiajuana Mexico. My surgeon was Sergio Quiones. I had BCBS and called them to see if they covered WLS. They said it was a case by case basis. So at the end of Nov I submitted to them my referral. I was denied because my employer had a clause restricting any form of WLS. So I had 3 options. 1. pay cash price in the states 20K in Florida, Marry my boyfriend (his insurance pays 100%) or 3 go to mexico. Mexico was a wonderful experience. I only paid $4150 not including airfare. I am a nurse and would say I got as good of service there. I felt like a queen. I am a week out and have no complications.
I love the cold weather. But wanna know something weird. Since surgery, I cannot keep warm. I am constantly cold and even bought an electric blanket. I always said fat girls dont get cold. Well after WLS yes they do lol.

Hey there everyone!!! I had my RNY on Friday morning. Everything went well. I should be release from the hospital tomorrow afternoon. I think one of the best pieces of advice I have while in the hospital, is to stay up on your pain meds & walk, walk, walk. Walking makes me feels so much better. I've definitely been extremely sleepy too. I'll update again once I get home and start full liquids! Friday I didn't have anything, except IV fluids. Today it's been 2 teaspoons of water/ice each hour. Tomorrow I will get clear liquids, then I go home and start full liquids. Good luck to those that will be having surgery in this upcoming week!!!!

Good luck, everyone! I have lost nine lbs. since I started the preop diet. I met another girl who is having surgery the same day when I went to the presurgery class. We are going to check on each other when we walk the hall. I am ready for Tuesday. I will post as soon as I am up to it. Can't wait to start a new positive direction in my life.
I'm sorry - I don't know how I missed you. Adding you RIGHT NOW!!
