Thanks, but I'm not getting down over this. I know it will take time, and I'm OK with that. Now, if only I can poke a needle into my belly and let out about 6" of air. . . . . . too bad it doesn't work that way!!

I think once the swelling and tenderness in your esophagus goes down you will be able to eat and drink better. The fullness may dissipate, too. The damage from GERD was much worse for you. I am still thinking positive and feel things will get easier over time. Please do not get down or depressed. You made the right decision. If you still have issues I bet your doctor can shed some light on something that can be done to make it better for you. Happy holidays to you and everyone in this OH forum.
I hope and pray you get an uninterrupted night's sleep. Our bodies need plenty of quality sleep to heal.
What a blessing to have no more GERD problems. That would be wonderful!

I am SO looking forward to getting and staying healthy. No more yo-yoing for me. I have put my body through enough.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours, too.

At one week I finally weigh less than I did going into surgery, but I swear my stomach and abdomen are still larger. I have been in sweats and PJs since surgery.
I know I need to get more fluids in. My husband has threatened to take over my fluid intake and recording it so I get enough fluids in. I told him if he makes me drink 4 oz every hour I'm not having "a meal" (protein shake), I'll throw up. He wasn't impressed.

...looks like someone attacked me with a claw hammer, and couldn't decide which side to use! The first time my husbeast looked at it, he just whistled and said "Damn, girl..." (but not in a good way, LOL!) Between the actual incisions and the heparin injection sites I'm a bruised-up mess! Of course, I didn't expect much different, but it's still impressive.
I'm tempted to take a picture for posterity, but then again maybe I should just try to forget about it.

I'm glad you're doing so well, Shannon! I can't wait to get SOME kind of food, anything would be wonderful at this point! Pudding, cottage cheese...I'm so tired of liquids.
You're an inspiration and a great example. Thanks for posting, and keep letting us know how you're doing, please.
Merry Christmas!

Congrats on doing so well Shannon!
I need to exercise too, but I struggle with chronic fatigue from my auto immune disease. I'm only one week out, and I'm going to give my body more time to heal.
