At the moment, if anything, it's a little worse to be honest. I think that's only really because they stopped the Protonix I was on while I was in the hospital, and now I'm playing catch up. I get a lot of reflux if I lie flat, and I'm having a lot of burping. Hopefully it will all resolve shortly, though.

So very excited for you Anne!  Do you have family traveling with you to TX?   You know, I stalked this site for a couple of months, afraid to say anything and the closer I got to my 12/26 surgery I realized that the people here are all so supportive and wanted the best for everyone that I just had to join in.   Now I hope that I will be able to give confidence to someone contemplating the surgery!  I will keep you in my prayers!

Topic: RE: The Scale

I have had a love/hate relationship with the scale all my life.  Since I started REALLY trying to weight pre-op (October), I have been religious about weighing myself regularly.  It keeps me honest, and I am thankful for a record of my downward journey.  All the times in my life I have regained weight, I have stopped weighing myself.  Lesson has been learned for me.

KS thanks for the thoughts. I have gotten a scale however it's still in the box. I am waiting to open it on New years eve as I start my pre-op diet on New Years Day and I want to know EXACTLY where I start on that day. I am very excited and nervous also to step on it for the first time but also eagerly anticipating this event. I will keep everybody updated.

Get a scale! Get a scale! U will need one soon. My average weight loss is 5lbs every 5 days 2 weeks post op this December. If u don't get one u will lose track. Keeping track is very serious. I stopped doing exercises for a few days and my weight loss stalled. I started back last week and lost 5lbs. I did it to prove to myself that the surgery works and it does. All of myhealth problems are reversing and my surgeon took me off of 2 of my medicines so far. I suspect by the time i meet with my nutritionist again i will weigh so much less than where i started from she will actually cry. I have hated the scale all my life but now i dare not go over 7 days without weighing myself. You owe it to yourself to have a scale in your home. It will be your only true friend in your weight loss journey!

Topic: The Scale
I would just like to get some thoughts on the evil scale. I have never had one in my home due to the fact they usually don't go above 300 pounds and have debated getting one due to the fact I don't want to become obsessed with it. I did finally get one and have decided I'm going to attempt to only get on it once a week. Any thoughts/suggestions on this topic?
