I realize this is not a prompt reply to your post. Even though I have been reading the posts on here and the forums I just hasn't been actively participating much.  I am one of the lucky ones who have had little too no problems after surgery. I just wanted to wish you well and give you my sympathy for what you are going through.  Were you able to figure out what the passion you are experiencing is from?  I sure hope everything is ok.

Thanks for your kind words. I must admit it is so nice to have have someone to refer to me as someone with less too loose.   I didn't feel that way about myself but, I must admit, I am feeling good and it is nice to see that my body is beginning to take shape again. keep up the good work.  Your progress is encouraging and impressive.

I wouldn't see that it is not as fast as some. You are doing great. I have noticed that people that have more to drop, seem to drop faster than those who have less. I had/have 100 more lbs to drop than you, so that is why I might have dropped a bit faster, but honestly not by much. Glad you are doing great with no complications

They had originally prescribed Nexium twice a day for me, but my insurance company wouldn't cover it either.  (I could start a rant here, but won't.)

They instead put me on prescription Prilosec, for which there is a generic.  They said all the main ingredients are the same with Nexium and Prilosec.  The drug company's patent on Prilosec was almost up so they developed Nexium - same active ingredients, a slight difference in the inert ingredients.  Thus the company gets a new patent for the new drug, and with heavy marketing on the greatness of "the purple pill", they can retain a chunk of the market share of the brand name prescription market.  If anything needs reform, it's the drug companies.

I'm sorry you have another ulcer.  Maybe generic Prilosec twice a day would help you too!  Please keep me posted.

Wow congeats on doing so well.  Sorry you are having to deal with ulcers that has to be a drag.   Things have gone well for me, which I am very grateful for. I've 54 lbs so far.   It may not be as fast as some but I am pretty happy with it. I feel great.

I have no idea what is causing them, but I have had them since almost right after the surgery. I have been on medication for them for the past 3 months and just had my scope again on this past Tuesday and now there are two instead of one. I am again on medicine and go back in 8 weeks for another scope in hopes they are gone. The DR wants me on Nexium but it is 100 bucks, my insurance doesn't pay for it all. It really uncomfortable and painful most of the time.

I am just under 4 month post op. I am down 60 lbs from surgery. I am doing very well accept the two ulcers that I am dealing with. I went back in for another scope on this past tue. Instead of finding out the ulcer was gone, I found out that it is not and now have another small one.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Topic: Random question

For the last several weeks, I've had a fairly constant ache/discomfort in the lower/pelvic abdominal region.

I had a UTI last month, but I've finished the antibiotics and tested clear.  I have no fever.  I had a colonoscopy before my surgery and I have no diverticulum.  I've had a hysterectomy, so all that equipment (except my cervix) is gone.  My healthy appendix was taken out when I was in my twenties.  I'm not constipated and there is no correlation with when I eat.  I seen my internist next week, but just curious if anyone else has experience this.

(I'm going to cross-post on the RNY forum.)
