December, 2013 RNY Buddies
worked out 2x today
worked out 2x today...early this morning I did 40 minutes on the elliptical, then 90 minutes of walking (only shoping) Then tonite after the superbowl I decided, hey why not go to the gym, no one will be there!!! YEAH!!! empty gym!!
did leg press 3 sets of 100 lbs, 15 reps, leg extensions 3 sets of 15 at 45 lbs, leg curls 3 sets of 15 at 60 lbs, calf raises 3 sets of 15 at 80 lbs, hip abduction 3 sets of 15 at 45 lbs, hip flexors 3 sets of 15 at 40 lbs and for the first time in 20 years...crunches 3 sets of 20 at 30 lbs!!
I feel like a million bucks...but I have a feeling tomorrow I will be sore! I have been walking and doing light work outs, but tonite my husband didn't go with me and I just got in the groove.
What a great liberating feeling!! I think on payday I am going to buy some goggles and start swimming a little too.
I thank God every day for allowing me to have the RNY and giving me the courage to not be afraid to go to the gym, put those leggins on and not care what anyone thinks.
Good job, just don't over do it and be so sore you have to take a couple of days off. They have me doing weights on different body parts M-W-F, 20 minutes of cardio on weight days and 30 minutes of cardio on T-Th. After a full week of that, I needed the weekend off; then again I always have muscle and joint pain and fatique from my autoimmune disease.
I love walking laps in the pool. Walking forward I get the front and back of my legs, plus I do wide scooping motions with my arms which gets my shoulders and upper arms. To mix it up I also walk sideways, crab style, to get the inside and outside of my thighs.
awesome, thanks for the tips. I am a little sore this morning, not as bad as I thought...but for me it is always the 2nd day out where it burns. I think today I will do cardio, good idea to vary the routine. the 24 hour fitness that I joined has a lap pool and a walking pool, can't wait to get in there now.
Have a great day!
Great job. Working out is so much fun. I feel bad when I can go. I too had to train myself to not care what others feel about me. I started jogging on the treadmill. I walk for 20 min (on 3.5) but on every 3rd min (3,6,9 etc) I jog for 1 min (at 4.0). At 228lbs it is hard for me to do, but I do it. My face is red and Im breathing hard but Im there for me, noone else. When I first started doing that I could only jog every 5th min and only did 15 min. I am so proud of myself to be able to say I jogged even for 1 min. Hopefully I can build to jog for 75 seconds or so. For now the 1 min is just hard enough lol, Keep it up
