December, 2013 RNY Buddies
Update
It has been awhile since I have posted. I am hanging in there. Had to deal with dehydration (went to the ER) I had a scope done and dealing with an ulcer. Still on soft foods because of it. As of today I am down 50.5 lbs from highest weight and 33.5 lbs from surgery weight. Which brings me to .6 lb to be under 300 lbs.. I am so close to hitting my first real goal.
Pretty excited.
Hey lady, I was just thinking about you yesterday! I'm so sorry to hear about the dehydration and ulcer, that's a shame, but I'm glad they could find the problem and hopefully you'll heal up in no time. And congratulations on the weight loss! I share your excitement, I'm 2 pounds away from being under 300, so I know how great that feels!
You keep on being excited, and keep on truckin', as they say! Good to hear from you.

I am new to this group but very excited to share triumphs! Congratulations on meeting your first goal!
My surgery was on January 16, 2014. So I am a little more than one week out. It has been a roller coaster of emotions. The physical part of the surgery was fine but my emotions have been up and down all week. I am praying for them to smooth out. I have lost 17 pounds since surgery and looking forward to many more pounds down.
Woo hoo on the weight loss since surgery; that's fantastic for a little over one week out - especially considering how much fluid they pump into us while we're in the hospital. (At one week, I was still 8 lbs over my pre surgery weight.)
Having your emotions up, down, left and right is perfectly normal. I see a psychiatrist to manage my meds for anxiety and depression. Before the surgery I asked if I could start weaning off one of my meds. He very tactfully said, "why don't we wait a while and see how things go?" HA - he knew what was coming for me!!
How are you liking it so far on "The Loser's Bench", with the rest of us?
