2 week Out

I am 2 weeks out. I have lost 21 pounds since I began this journey. This has been the best gift I could have done for myself.I have had no issues at all (thank you God). I even had to call my Dr’s nurse to confirm that I indeed had the surgery. I was worried because I felt too good. I told her that if I had something hurt or go wrong it would feel more like I had surgery. She said because I did a good job pre op, my post op is easy.

I am getting my protein in no problem but still struggle to get the liquids in. I continue to track everything on heath tracker which I love. I started to work out over the weekend. I have a personal trainer who is a bariatric trainer. She has me on a program designed around my surgery. Yesterday I attended an aerobic class called silver sneakers. It is designed for older people. Those ladies were rockin!!!!!. It was just enough to get me started. IT was a great hour and I left sweaty and tired.

I can eat about 1/2c refried beans with ¼ cheese. I can finish a pack of cream of wheat. Creamed soup is about ½c.  I have not tried anything else yet. I can’t wait to eat a salad. I am a vegetarian and am craving a fresh salad. All in do time I guess. I’ll keep you updated.

Thanks so much for your post, you have started my December 24 th off with a bang!!  I am scheduled for 12/26 at 9:30 am check in time in Sacramento and have been having anxiety about it...You sound like it was a walk in the park!  I know that not everyone has the same experience but I am praying for your outcome!  I laugh, i had 3 kids natural child birth and walked out of the delivery room...I am hoping i still have my breathing and focus techniques.  Keep up the good work and congratulations for knowing that you are on your way to a healthy new life!!

Merry Christmas. What a wonderful present to give yourself tomorrow. Anxiety is normal and it will all happen so fast tomorrow you wont have time to be nervous. I had my gall bladder out 13 years ago. I feel that that surgery was worse than this one. If you had 3 natural child births you will be fine. You have a high threshold for pain....I will be praying for you. We will be 2 weeks apart on this journey!!!!

Congrats on doing so well Shannon!

I need to exercise too, but I struggle with chronic fatigue from my auto immune disease.  I'm only one week out, and I'm going to give my body more time to heal.

Karen, Also remember that I had the gastric sleeve and not the RNY so my surgery tends to heal faster. Take all the time you need because soon enough you will be back to exercising and chores. Maybe the surgery and loosing weight will help your chronic fatigue. Merry Christmas!!!

I'm glad you're doing so well, Shannon! I can't wait to get SOME kind of food, anything would be wonderful at this point! Pudding, cottage cheese...I'm so tired of liquids.

You're an inspiration and a great example. Thanks for posting, and keep letting us know how you're doing, please.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas!!!

I had tapioca a few days ago and yummm it was so good. I agree I am so tired of liquids too. I dont like cottage cheese but know its good for me. So I read a post that has you take cottage cheese and ricotta cheese and warm it in the microwave. Add a little salt and pepper and garlic. Put tomato sauce with it. Its like the inside of a manicotti. I may try this today. How are you feeling?

Ooooo, that sounds good.  And it qualifies as a "blenderized" food for me!  I will try that soon.

I am having it now. It is delicious but I can only finish 1/2 of it. I actually kept eating past my full stage because it tasted so good lol. I am going to post a few recipes for everyone.
