glad to be here
Ooooo, one day before me. Maybe we can text each other from our hospital beds!
I'm sorry you are so scared and that you are going through a tough time. Anything you want to talk about? I've found that no matter what disaster I may facing in life, there is always someone who can relate and often has words of encouragement.
So glad you are here. We will all get through this together.

I've been working a this for two yrs and I guess I have a bit of a unique case. I suffer from bipolar disorder, I have been very stable and have an amazing team of doctors. We are in it together and "normal" people go through so much after this surgury, I have different challenges that I will face with my medications.I am ready, but will need all the extra support out there!I would love to have someone to talk to and text in my hospital bed!!
Well now - it just so happens that I'm a bi-polar chiquita too! I've been stable for over a year (thank you Lamictal!), and my psych has told me that we'll monitor my meds and take it from there. Yes, it might affect them but we won't know until it happens. The plan being to up the dosage if need be. Since I've been stable for so long now I'm sure I'll recognize if I'm manic - although I do LOVE and MISS my manic episodes - damn I get a LOT done! Of course we always pay for them huh?
ANYway - hopefully we won't have to adjust too much. One day at a time right?
My new mantra: "I Can."

Catastrophic thinking is Anxiety's twin! I do it all the time - I now wear a rubber band on my wrist and every time I do it I snap the band and then have to tell myself two positive things. Behavior Modification. Seems to help. But then as you know, bi-polar has OCD elements in it too - so around and around those thoughts go... ugh. SOOOO hard to get off that train track of destructive thinking. But we can DO it!
So what is your favorite outfit from your eye-on-the-prize summer clothes?

Honestly.....I bought some pretty hot looking cutoffs! I got like 6 different pairs, my 18 yr old daughter thought they were for her...and my husband...well his reply was ....I'm not sure if I'm ready for this hon..! Let's just say they would fit right in with daisys wardrobe from the dukes of hazzard, was definatley a manic mall moment.
