Support Needed for Lyn Myers
February 15, 2009 8:51 pm Our Member Lyn Myers went to see Dr. Solomone February 3rd.
Be the first to leave a comment.She told him about the opening in her pouch to her other stomach and he was in serious mode. He said she has a serious complication called a fishula. A fishula is an opening from one organ to another. Lyn had an upper GI. indicating indeed she had a fishula. Dr. Sonpal said that it was caused from the bleeding ulcer. He plans to remove the area affected by the ulcer, the fishula and the area on the other stomach that is affected by the fishula. This will result in making Lyn's pouch smaller. Dr. Solomone said this may be the cause for Lyn's slow weight loss all along. The fishula may have been there before the ulcer letting in acid from the other side causing the ulcer. Dr. Sonpal indicated it is a risky surgery but so was the bypass. He does not want to repair Lyn's hernia at the same time because of the bowel being open. Lyn is scheduled for surgery February 18, 2009 at St. Vincent's in Cleveland. Please offer Lyn your support and prayers for an uneventul surgery and quick recovery. Thank you everyone!
