Thank you for accepting my request to be a part of the Connecticut Cares Support Group. I am from Oxford, CT and will behaving my surgery on Tuesday, I do not know what time yet, at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury. I am a nervous wreck....anxious, excited, worried, thrilled, scared...you get the point! Please pray for me on Tuesday...I will not be backing down from this year's New Years resolution!
Please keep me posted about any meetings that you plan, Thank you!

Hope everyone had a WOW moment for Christmas As we all know Christmas is never going to be the same after WLS.
I know we have some members that are looking for approval and I want to apologize to them for not responding.. Dan and I have not been able to connect yet to find out how this can be rectified.
I have general ideas that I would like some in put from member for upcoming events.
Here are some Ideas I have for having and active social WLS Support groups.
With the winter months some of the activities will have to be inside but once the warmer weather comes along we could do some more outside and physical activities
Here are some hopeful events I hope to organize after the New Year.
Game Nite at Home
3D Movie at CT Science Center
Eagle Watch and Seminar with an Eagle Expert
Please give us some ideas you would like to do with fellow WLS members
Hope everyone has a Happy New Year
Gloria

Topic: Just-Right-Chile from Cooking Right with Chef Dave
I LOVE CHILE and have it as a meal at least two times every week. I like mine "spicy" and would add some "goodys" to the following recipe to make it more to my liking.
Just-Right-Chile from Cooking Right with Chef Dave
Servings - 8
1/2 pound lean beef, ground
1/2 pound lean pork, ground
2 teaspoons garlic, chopped
1/2 bunch scallions, chopped
14 ounces tomato sauce
14 onces diced tomatoes, drained
2 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 can pinto beans, drained and rinsed
Place ground beef and pork into a medium pot, and saute for 5 minutes.
Drain fat.
Add remaining ingredients, and bring to a simmer.
Let simmer for 20 minutes.
Serve.
