Topic: Day One Homework/ Checklist
The assignment was to make your list of the reasons you want to loose weight, make copies of it and post around your environment. We are then supposed to read the list several times a day. I copied my list and have it on me at all times. I posted some at home and at work. I may make it a screen saver on my computer as well. Post your experience with this assignment.

Topic: Jump in at any time!! All are welcome
Many people are at different stages in the book or process...don't worry. Post about where you are in the process. I am posting about where I am each day. Jump in wherever you are. If you don't have a book yet, dont' worry. Try to post in the group each day, or respond to someone else's or reflect and share on your own experiences.

Make a list of things you like to do to play - little, daily doable things (a cruise might be just a tad too big LOL), then when you are bored with too much time on you hands, go to your list and do one of your play things.  Sometimes we forget it is as important to play as it is to work.  When you look at food (and it's not on you food plan for the day) instead of food, see shopping from the Lane Bryant catalogue.

They sure are triggers - good ones to know so you can know what changes you need to make - and then make them..  Years and years ago when I was doing Weigh****chers I got the best suggestion for avoiding cleaning my plate - of course, if we're at home we can just dump it out (do we spell it waste as in dumping it out or waist as in we want our waist to be/stay smaller?) but if we're at a resurant - the suggestion was - cover it with pepper - way more pepper than any mouth/stomach could (or even want) to tolerate.  Works like a charm!

What kind of positive triggers do you have for being compliant (another word we sometimes use is motivators)?

Michele - You made such an important point - we do need assistance to see changes in ourselves - I'm 4 yrs+ out from my lap band surgery and I still need help in seeing what size I really am now.

I really have to think about these.  I've tried to ignore and block out me being overweight.   If I just ignore it then it's not true...right?

triggers to pig out - having to finish the food in front of me, i think just food being in my vision makes me want to pigout.

triggers to graze - laziness, not wanting to cook or blend a shake, sitting in front of the computer

triggers to be compliant - scared of complications if I'm not compliant, the next doctor check up (want to show results)...are these triggers?
