Topic: Characteristic # 7: You Focus on Issues of Unfairness (Beck p 39)
Wow when I read ths I had to close the book: Heres my thinking:
I am angry that:
Other people who had a different surgery than me eat any danm thing they want and loose more than me
People who had the same surgery as me loose more than me and cant even eat a whole slice of pizza, sugar and other crap that I can eat just fine
Skinny people who are always stuffing their faces
That I have to exercise 5 times a wee****il my heart is about to explode just to get the scale to move
That I am even having to deal with weight issues at all...I HAD WLS DAMN IT!!!
Sooo...that's my vent. But page 40 goes on to say that I will have to learn to ACCEPT the restrictions and lifestyle that I will have to make in order to loose and maintain my weight successfully.
How do YOU feel about it?

Welcome April and excellent plan. You are so wise to want to establish good habits now. I have been obese all my life and after the surgery I realized that cutting up my insides was not going to be the entire solution for me.

Sometimes is mix crystal lite powder, splenda ice and a little water in the blender to make a 'slushie' . Not exactly ice cream shoppe quality, but I was racking up way too many calories on those popsicles for me that I didn't realize.

B: protein shake
L: Soutwestern Chicken (chicken, black beans, corn, salsa, cream cheese) and a Carbquik biscuit
S: no-sugar-added granola
D: going out to eat with friends and will order the fish
S: sugar-free popsicles
I'm experimenting with making my sugar-free popsicles at home since I go through a box every three or four days. Anybody had any luck doing this?

I've filled mine out but haven't posted it anywhere. It feels very private to me. I LOVE the sticking it in my bra idea!! lol!! Always close at hand. I think I just might do that.

Hi, My name is April. I hope to post regularly in this group, but I am not always good about posting on the internet. I have heard great things about the book, and decided to buy it early on in my journey. I got through the first two weeks and my husband came home from deployment. Things have been a little crazy since then. I am trying to establish the right mind set now, so that I am successful now with losing and later with maintaining. I had surgery September 9, 2009. I have lost 72 pounds so far, which is half-way to goal.

I have my copy printed and put on my fridge. At first, my kids made fun of it, but I told them it was what I needed to do. Now, if I seem stressed, they remind me of my list and tell me to go read it..LOL. I have a copy in my purse and on my computer, but I don't feel comfortable posting it at work.

I am only on day 2, and Im not reading ahead, but for now I am reading over my list of reasons to loose weight because I am strugggling right this moment. (Im at work too and there are some half stale cookies that I found at my desk. I am going to keep reading the reasons right now, and find something productive to do around the office.
