Topic: RE: Becks Day #4 Congratulate Yourself
Today I am congratulating myself fo my commitment tolimiting non nutritional food coming into my home. Last night my mom tried to push a bag of powdered doughnuts for me to take to put into my son's lunch box. That would have been the perfect excuse to bring them home, but  stuck to my guns. The past few monhs  at the grocery store it has become almost atomatic to avoid the junk food aisles. I don't even really have to argue with myself in the store not to buy certain things anymore.

I have been eating everything sitting down today and yesterday

I am posting here regularly

I ate some sorbet  in a 1/4 cup measuring container,at the table instead of standing at the freezer and eating a couple of spoonfuls out of the container

I decided to post this thread with a sticky so we can continue to add things as we go. I felt that this step was sooo important, because I beat myself up constantly. Im noticing people who are successful generally have a positive outlook.

Thats a great attitude. I am working on reflecting daily what I can be grateful for. Feeling unfairly treated takes a heavy emotional toll on me.

This is exactly how I choose to view my world. I can't help but feel absolutely blessed for every wonderful thing in my life, so it's hard to be upset about the things I don't have. Life ISN'T fair -- but sometimes it's not fair in our favor. Is it fair that I have insurance that covers RNY but my friend, who is much heavier than I was, does not? Is it fair that I had the good fortune to be born in a country where women have rights but other women are born in countries where they are considered to be the property of their husbands? This doesn't mean that I have everything I want or that I don't wish for things. It just puts it in perspective for me and makes me understand that I'm richly, richly blessed and makes me feel grateful every single day of my life. Unfairness happens, sometimes for my good, sometimes not. But I think in the end it probably all evens out.

Thanks for your response. The idea is to support one another as we complete the book, reflection for those who have done it before, ask questions, share fears, successes, thoughts, feelings. I plan to post everyday at least once a day.

Hello Everyone,
I am 3 years post op tomorrow and I originally lost 105lbs., but have managed to regain 20lbs. back.  I like so many others do struggle with food.  My biggest obstacle is the work place.  I can be at home and be on track forever, but this place just seems to draw out my Food Demons.  I am managing things a little better, but hoping that this site and another site I'm devoted too will really help get me straight and on maintenance!
