9.5 pounds I am so greatful for being sick this week, I know the pounds are going to stop dropping off any day now and I am okay with that. I am hoping that my body’s thermometer will register this weight and say “oh yah, I like it here".
In the past I have lost 6 -7# and then put it right back on within a week, for some reason this is the way my body works.

April, I think South Beach phase one is a great diet to get back to eating similar to WLS diet. I think phase one of the original Atkins would be a good one too. I have both books but can‘t find the Atkins one right now. I love all the good recipes in the SB, I keep that one handy its with all my other recipe books.
Melva, I know 80 oz sounds like a lot of water LOL. Its just been since I have been sick the begin of this week that I increased my water by 20 oz , I guess cause I wasn’t eating I needed to drink. . At first I was peeing every 10 mins, now I just make sure after I take in about 20 oz that I have access to a BR because it sneaks up on me and when I gotta go…I gotta go LOL. I don’t like plain water I use Crystal lite. 1 pkg in 40 oz of water.
Last night I ate too much, I know it was due to thinking about food all day… trying to figure out a planned menu and I still haven’t fini**** I know what I will eat but have to do some numbers so I can stay within my calorie, protein range.
Night time is the worst for me and eating. I had rye bread and PB and Kashi Cereal last night when I was alone. I had promised myself I would not eat alone at night , my worst habit it to wait till everyone is in bed or down stairs watching TV and then find something to eat… its not always a bad food choice. I want to get away from the secret of eating. Grrrr oh well its done…. today I have a plan and I will stick to it!

Melva, We always want what we can’t or shouldn’t have. It will get easier the more often you resist to give in to the “no no" the easier it will get. That is awesome that you have already lost 2 of the 10 pounds you are looking to lose!!!
Keep looking for the positive, keep reading you Advantage list, read as many times as you need to!!! Are you drinking water, that helps with hunger, cravings and weight loss. I have just recently been able to take in 80 oz of water every day, it works!!!

Since all of us seem to have had the RNY...... are we all sticking to the post op diet that was suggested by your Dr or are you doing something different?
As for me, I am doing the WLS post op diet this is my primary diet and because we were told to choose a second one I have chose the South Beach diet as a back up.

Melva, white carbs are bagels, breads, cakes, cereal, chocolate, cookies, crackers, fruits and fruit juices, ice cream, potato chips, and most snack type foods, pasta, potatoes, pretzels, rice, pie, and sugar-sweetened beverages. Any thing were the first few ingredients are white flour, salt, sugar, milk, rice and potatoes.
The type of stuff we grab when we don’t plan a meal or snack . We grab a bad carb, we get a sugar high. Lots of energy for a short period of time then..... cra****s all over and our body "craves" more sugar. it’s a vicious cycle of sugar and fat storage. The sugar we eat is quickly digested, goes quickly into our blood (the "rush") and our body quickly compensates by pulling the extra sugar out of your blood. THEN... it's stored as fat!
