I just wanted to check in because I have been away for a few days. My husband recently returned from Iraq, and we had some major drama in the house this weekend. I had to put the book aside for a few days, because honestly I had a few more important issues to deal with. I don't really want to go into any details on a public forum, but if you guys pray, can you add my family to your prayer list.
Tonight, I am going to figure out what day I am on and get right back to doing the daily activites. The good news, even though I didn't progress in the book, I did stay true to my eating plan for the most part. I didn't feel too much need to stray, even though my emotions normally would want me to.
Hmmm, the cream one I am famous for that, I have started to measure out a ¼ cup of milk to use in my coffees for each day.
Eyeballing, guilty of this one too.
Unplanned food………sigh!!!
When I don’t follow the food plan I have made for myself…I am fooling myself
Another one for me is avoiding exercise, I have been good for the last 2 weeks but when I refuse to exercise I am fooling myself.
There has been some days that I thought...... "I probably don’t need to do this"...... BUT if I skip it who am I hurting Judith Beck? No, myself, I find myself going back too these days and re reading and thinking what value is in this lesson…to not do a day is like, taking a shower with out the main ingredient, only running water is not going to get me clean!
Quoting Dr. Beck: "Once I stop fooling myself about my eating, dieting will be easier."
IT'S NOT OKAY !!!

STOP FOOLING YOURSELF
Have you learned to delude yourself in your diet life? Are you still justifying your cheating?
Here are a few ways we might be cheating ourselves, that result in extra calories every day.
-Eyeball food instead of measure or weighing it
-Justify unplanned food, even that one bite
-Omit certain items when calorie counting, like the cream in your coffee
-Avoiding or refusing to do one of the BDS steps
Beck says" A calorie is a calorie, no matter when, where or why you eat it."
When you find yourself using self deluding sabotaging thoughts, read your Advantage and Responds cards.
