Sounds like you have a good plan,  also take some cold water and some sf flavor packets, like crystal light.  Enjoy the family

I am having my family reunion today. I tried to make excuses for not going but I really wanna go I believe I am afraid I do not want to break my meal plan. Everything we have been learning in BDS will be shown to me today, 1st to start off the the food pushers will be everywhere with every food you can imagine. I know I will have all the sabotaging thoughts and many temptations.

Here is my plan
1. I will say no alot
2. I will take my own protein and other snacks
3. Take and read my advantage and response cards .
4. Take walks around the park several times.

Any suggestions will really really be helpful..

Go back and review and day that tends to cause you problems.

Topic: Eat Slowly and Mindfully
The Beck Diet Solution reminds us that it takes up to 20 minutes for the brain to get the message from the stomach that it's full. In addition to slowing down, she recomends concentrating on what you are eating in order to increase satisfaction from smaller portions. In the long run she feels it's unrealistic to eat without distractions (her patients never stick to it) but she suggests practicing without distractions at first to learn how to eat mindfully even if you're distracted.

Thanks Melva and Bev....I like the idea of response cards for this.    I think I could use them in almost every aspect that I am trying to change.   

I am leaving in the morning to go out of town for a couple of days for training with the FRG (Family Readiness Group for the National Guard).    I will be taking my laptop, but not sure how much time I will have to spend on it.    Hopefully, I can check in.  If not, I will be back on Monday.

I am winding down my last few days on Beck, and I am actually excited to start it over.   I think the second time will really make it sink in.

Sounds like goals and that is right it is important all of them. I knew this but didn't think of it until you mentioned it. I am gonna do it starting today.
Gotta know where you are going otherwise you will never get there.
