Decide About Drinking

Drinking is a personal choice, If you choose to drink remember alcohol contains 7 calories a gram. One mixed drink could cost you 400 calories. If you are going to have a drink be sure to plan for it, incorporate it into your food plan.

For myself after having WLS I usually avoid Alcohol or have it on rare occasion maybe once every 3-4 months. If I do drink I tend to be a cheap drunk, maybe just one or two, hit hits hard and fast LOL

I know of some people that have turned their food addiction to alcohol addiction after surgery, a very good friend of mine is trying to deal with this issue right now. I also know others that have a glass of wine or two every night. It’s a very individual choice.

1st time 01/31/2010 - 03/14/2010 lost 13 lbs

You are right, I don't drink at all. The last time I had one drink it was nothing nice. With our WLS when we drink Alcohol quickly gets to the liver and we are very intoxicated just because of the way our surgery rearranged our insides.

Now speaking of the calories, WOW!!!, you gotta think is it worth the one two or three drinks?
Alchol slows down your metabolism, do we want that? I don't know about everybody else but after the honeymonn of my WLS, my weight los is usually very slow, I CERTAINLY DON'T WANT ALCOHOL SLOWING IT EVEN MORE
