Stay in Control when Eating Out

Have a plan of action when eating out is the key. Give some thought to what you plan to eat rather than just being spontaneous.

Here are a few suggestions Beck provides:

Decide on amount of calories you will have, make special requests like dressing on side.

To keep within your calorie range you may need to cut down on some of the calories from other meals during the day.

Read Advantage Lists  2 xs a day or more if needed
Sit Down, Slow Down, Enjoy Each Bite

Be accountable here daily
Exercise is not an option
Be aware of cravings and desires
Plan meals today for tomorrow

When I go out evevn before i start eating I get a take out box and put 1/2 of my food I've ordered in the box. When I take it home I either give to my kids or eat as a meal the next day.

Always good to think out your food plans, makes it easier when I am actually there...

Wow only 12 more days and I will have completed the whole program

I don’t cook on the weekends so its leftovers or eating out…we usually do at least one Breakfast and one Dinner..

If we go to my favourite breakfast place I have, a 4 oz steak, 2 eggs and a fruit cup.

Most times I will check online for the menu and make 2 choices before we go and I stick to one or the other. I recently have been asking for a take-out contained when the waiter comes back to check the first time and then remove ½ right away.

I like both of your ideas for eating out.    We eat out, but I try to stay with grilled chicken.   I love Cracker Barrel because I can get the kids meal, and it has the perfect amount of chicken, sometimes a little too much.   Usually I can't eat the veggie that comes with it.  

If I get an adult meal anywhere, I do get half of it to go or my kids will eat it.   My son is very small for his age, but eats his weight in food.    Now, he gets a kids meals and eats the rest of mine, when before he would get an adult meal.  LOL   I have never thought about the to-go box in advance.   If he is not going to eat my food, I may try that.
