I sent this to my friend and choosen diet coach, but I thought I may need to post it here as well:

On so many fronts, I am doing well.   Becks is really helping get my mind right.   However, since my stomach I am struggling in one particular area and I need your help.    WATER....I am having trouble getting it all in again.    Yesterday, I got 54 ounces.    The day before was probably 48.    I need to tell someone so this doesn't turn into a chronic probelm.    Today, I have had about 20 ounces, so i am on track to get it all in.

April, they say we should have 64 oz of water a day, so it looks like you are almost there. Just keep working at it, it will happen!

I use to go days with out drinking water, here is what I did to help me get my water in.
First of all I DON"T like water and I find crystal lite very sweet if I use it in just one bottle of water,

So I have 2 - 20oz  bottles that I fill up every morning and I use 1 crystal lite package between the two of them so I just have a hint of flavor. I drink as much of it as I can before lunch. I take the bottles with every where i go  in to every room in the house.  When I go out shopping I make sure I have two full ones with me. In the after noon I would fill them both up again but only drink 1 of them that would give me 60 oz. . Now I drink all 4 so I get 80 oz a day.

When I do my journaling the first thing I write on the page every morning  is  my
weight
water
  -  after I finish a bottle I give myself a 20, the next bottle I get another 20 and so on
vitamins   -   I give a tick after I have taken all of them
coffee  -  I write a one for every coffee I drink in the day. I recently discovered that in a coffee with two  creams there is 140 calories (I don't use sugar) so I'm trying to cut them out.
protein shakes -  I give myself a one for everyone I have, I don't find them filling so I have been trying to get my protein from my food.

I have also used a timer, I would set the timer for 15 mins and in that 15 mins I would drink as much water as I could. I would do this about 4 times through out the day it really helped to get use to drinking.

I sure hope these suggestions help

That does help.   Do you have the workbook?   I do, and I don't like the food chart or the daily activity chart.   I am trying to come up with my own.

54 ounces good and as long as you know you have an issue you will make a conscious effort to get more liquid in. Give you self credit for the 54ozs that's over 1/2 of what is recommended.

I too have an issue with getting water/ fluids down. What I have done is, I have a really pretty sports container I keep cold water with lemon or crystal lite type drink in it. Whenever I look at the container that is my reminder to take a drink. I have been getting down more than the 96ounces daily now.

Tell yourself you must drink the water for survival and Remember: NO CHOICE NO CHOICE NO CHOICE !!

April, I have several systems on the go, if I was able to combine them all into one I would have a gold mine I'm sure LOL

I have a note book that I keep the things I mentioned earlier in as well as my food log. I also log my food in Fitday.com to keep track of the numbers. then I have my BDS things in another book.

I think I have 3 note books going, my life time goal is to be organized  ;-}, oh well sometimes it works some times it doesn't.

I'm open to any organization ideas

I personally think that too many post-ops get hung up on numbers.  Do YOU really need 64 oz of water?  I get a lot, but I urinate a lot.  My primary doesn't want me drinking too much after 3:00pm because it affects me waking up at night to pee and interrupting my sleep.  It's hard to get most of the fluids in before then.  I have discussed this with my primary, my surgeon, and my cardiologist.  The important thing for me is to be sure that I am properly hydrated.

Individuals are different.  If you are having problems with fluids, discuss it with your doc.  Maybe you are already getting in the proper amount of fluids.  When you count your fluids, count all fluids plus water--not jus****er alone.

Hmmm, when I had my surgery, my doctor insisted on a minimum of 64 oz of water, pure water  or non-caloric beverages like black tea .  And not to drink 30 mins before or after meals.  After  all these years i still try to follow his orders.

I have proven that  my body benefits from drinking lots of water, it really help  flush the old pipes.
