 Identify Sabotaging Thoughts



Today is about the importantance of recognizing and identifying sabotaging thoughts . I don’t think I have ever really acknowledged these thoughts, even in the past 3 weeks. Beck says that eating off plan doesn't happen automatically, that almost always it is some thing that we have had a thought or series of thoughts about. I can totally contest to this!!!
 

She suggests for the next few days take time to write down those sabotaging thoughts.

Wow what timing, this exercise has stirred up a lot of thoughts and feelings I may stay here for a few days to get a better grasp.

1st time 01/31/2010 - 03/14/2010 lost 13 lbs
2nd time started 03/23/2010 -
Heres what I will do daily to succeed:
Read Advantage Lists  2 xs a day or more if needed
Sit Down, Slow Down, Enjoy Each Bite
Credit myself
Be accountable here daily
Exercise is not an option
Be aware of cravings and desires
Plan meals today for tomorrow

I am glad to see that you may stay here for a few days, because I know I need to stay here.   The further we get in these exercises, the more emotions and feelings get stirred up in me.

Okay so some times you just need to give yourself a kick in the but and say "get on with it". Ive been on this day for two days now and its time to face the music and then move on.

Identifying Sabotaging Thoughts

It is important to recognise your unique sabotaging thoughts and respond to them effectively. The book says that eating off  plan doesn't happen automatically-- that almost always it is preceded by a thought or series of thoughts.

Take the time to tune in and pay attention to those thoughts, identify and be aware of them. As you go through out the day jot these down as they occur.

This one is a biggie for me,

“I’m entitled to have it, I don’t need to justify why". “Yes, but I am also entitled to be healthy and at goal, which one do I want more…Its my choice".

Never before have I stopped to think about what I am thinking before I shove that no-no in my mouth. I will be paying attention to this in the future.
