Day 11 Monitoring your Hunger

Day 11 of the BDS

Differentiate between hunger, desire and cravings. Today’s assignment is to get in tune with how you feel before, during and after  meals. Use the chart on pg 119, describe your fullness . Rate each meal and snack  from 0 - 10.

I think this will be the most challenging assignment  yet. I'll be back with my findings.

Read Advantage Lists  2 xs a day or more if needed
Sit Down, Slow Down, Enjoy Each Bite
Credit myself
Be accountable here daily
Exercise is not an option
Be aware of cravings and desires
Plan meals today for tomorrow

I think this is one of the most important tasks yet…..When over eat or eat bad choices I do it to dull or numb my feelings.

With this challenge I am to get in tune and pay attention to how I feel about what I am eating…. this is makes me face some things. It’s not that I don’t know the how to distinguish between these 3, It’s recognising and acknowledging that it is one and not the other.

The book says to repeat this task as many times as needed. I have a post-it stuck in the book on this day because I think this is a key day for me so I’ll be back here often.

The only problem with this is I am never REALLY hungry I think the last time I was hungry was when I had to fast for 12 hours for test. That was hunger,cause I could hear my pouch growling.

I agree. I  have nor been physically hungry since surgery< I guess I will count head hunger???

I was going to do Day 11 over again today, but I am sick so there will be no regular meals for me so I'll do day 12 because there are going to be a few skipped meals.  No gym today neither, hubby is also sick he had to miss work today.

Have a great one today....no focusing on the past, just the future and present.

Feel better soon and get to it when you can. Im glad we have each other to be accountable to b/c it's getting harder (for me anyway)....Today I will congratulate myself for monitorning my hunger, eating everything sitting down. Eating more slowly.  I will read my list b4 I go to bed.

My Daughter works in the hospital in our city. She has graciously shared the Norwalk flu with us, thank God it will only last a day or two.

I have not had anything bu****er since last night at about 10:00 its now 4:15. I’m going to try to get a protein coffee in right now.

I am doing Day12 as far as doing the charting and recognising degrees of hunger…I have a first hand hatred for hunger right now. This is a hard lesson this hunger thing LOL.

I know I find its getting harder as well, I find it even more challenging because we don’t know each other and I don’t want to offend you by anything I might say or suggest during these steps.

Anyways, I hope day 11 is going well for you, maybe in the next day or two we can talk about food issues and what we are eating…..the diets we have chose to follow. I know when I share what my daily intake is on different forums it helps me to be more accountable.
I know we will deal with this in week 3 but if we need it now to keep focused whats the harm!!




Have read my advantage list once today
I credited myself for not over doing it today, taking care of me even though dh has the same thing.upset i missed the gym but couldn't be helped

Free, I did not get hungry on Day 11 I think it was all cravings and just wanting some thing in my mouth that tasted good. I know I will be back to this assignment several times in the future.


Now yesterday on Day 12 was horrible (I was sick) the hunger was a 7-9 between 8 -11 A M but it had been about 9-10 hours since I had eaten anything. Then the hunger slowly diminished by noon it was a 4 and 2 PM a 2, and I was good until about 8 PM but at that point the hunger was under control. I was also feeling better so was able to eat some jello and a piece of cheese. By 10 PM I wanted chips DAH!! So I put 2 small Tortillas in the oven and baked them. I could have stopped at about 1/2 of one but NO I ate both.

I am still sick today, I am going to take a look at Day 13 and see If I should work on it or wait.

What Day are you working on? I really don't want to go ahead of you.

I did day 12 today and currently have a headache..i think it's from not eating. I am planning to move to day 13 and go back as needed sorry u dont feel well. Do want to wait a few more days to go on?

Free, I am going to continue on to Day 13, I will read tonight

Good job on getting to the gym., I will be there as soon as this bug is out of my system....don't want to go spreading little germmies in the gym.  
 I am sure the headache is from not eating. Be sure to note how your feeling as you eat, don’t over do it by eating too much stop short of full.
