Many people are at different stages in the book or process...don't worry. Post about where you are in the process. I am posting about where I am each day. Jump in wherever you are. If you don't have a book yet, dont' worry. Try to post in the group each day, or respond to someone else's or reflect and share on your own experiences.

I have completed the book and am using this as a refresher.  It is great to learn of other's experiences.

Thank you for doing this and being so honest about your struggles.  I am only 3 months out and last night I broke down and decided I could eat pretty much the same as pre surgery, and I really had very little restriction with a few exceptions . Like I can't tolerate water.  I had a full blown pity party, but the emotions and feelings were those familiar ones of "this is for everyone else, but not you"  Stinkin' Thinkin' but hard to fight years of feeling this way.  So many people on the other forums just don't get the emotional part of it or the fact that some people just have different restriction.  The only time I was honest on the other board I was immediately attacked by a couple of people who for the life of me have so much self discipline I can't figure why they had to have surgery!! It reinforces the feelings of failure.
ANYWAY, I bought the Beck workbook early post op (I sensed I wasn't emotionally where I needed to be).   I pray I can follow through and join you on this journey.  Free Spirit, you sound like you really get it.  Thanks again.

Welcome..I feel you. I have witnessed some of the responses on some boards, and wow maybe their food issues werent as deeply rooted as they are for me. I have a close friend who has the rny 4 years ago, and once she had wls, she really didn't struggle with food issues after that and has maintained for 4 years with relative ease. Im just not wired that way. Just come here every day  and share your experiences one day at a time. We are all in the same boat.
