Three Triggers
Triggers to pig out - Stress and anger - especially at work (my biggest achilles heel - I've got to learn to deal with stress and anger in ways other than eating to bury the feelings).
Triggers to graze - Boredom, pleasure seeking
Triggers to be compliant - Seeing a lower number on the scale, knowing that I'll feel good about myself when I get into bed tonight, fear of regain

Luna - a big stress-reliever at work (or really anywhere) is to accept the fact that regardless of how wise you are, you are not the center of others universe and you cannot make them do what you know/think they should. All you can do is control your behavior - no one can make anyone else think, feel or do anything - we can only invite and it's up to the other person whether or not they accept the invitations. Therefore, know that those folks with whom you are angry CANNOT make you angry, they can only invite - and, up to now, you've accepted their invitation. Consider if you really want those folks in charge of your life?
Triggers to be compliant:
I don’t want what I’ve been through for the surgery to be for nothing
Having renewed confidence
Being able to wear stylish clothes and looking good in them
Being better accepted by other people
No longer worrying that my children and grandchildren are ashamed of my size
Triggers to pig out:
I don’t know that I’ve really pigged out since my surgery. There have been days when I knew I ate too much of the wrong things over the course of the day. The triggers for that are the same as my triggers to graze.
Triggers to graze:
Boredom
Too much time on my hands
Seeing the food
Make a list of things you like to do to play - little, daily doable things (a cruise might be just a tad too big LOL), then when you are bored with too much time on you hands, go to your list and do one of your play things. Sometimes we forget it is as important to play as it is to work. When you look at food (and it's not on you food plan for the day) instead of food, see shopping from the Lane Bryant catalogue.
I really have to think about these. I've tried to ignore and block out me being overweight. If I just ignore it then it's not true...right?
triggers to pig out - having to finish the food in front of me, i think just food being in my vision makes me want to pigout.
triggers to graze - laziness, not wanting to cook or blend a shake, sitting in front of the computer
triggers to be compliant - scared of complications if I'm not compliant, the next doctor check up (want to show results)...are these triggers?

They sure are triggers - good ones to know so you can know what changes you need to make - and then make them.. Years and years ago when I was doing Weigh****chers I got the best suggestion for avoiding cleaning my plate - of course, if we're at home we can just dump it out (do we spell it waste as in dumping it out or waist as in we want our waist to be/stay smaller?) but if we're at a resurant - the suggestion was - cover it with pepper - way more pepper than any mouth/stomach could (or even want) to tolerate. Works like a charm!
What kind of positive triggers do you have for being compliant (another word we sometimes use is motivators)?
